Along the lines of a similar thread somewhere in thehighroad.org........

If you were to face off in a parking lot against 5 thugs, were unarmed but had a choice of selecting one unarmed non sci-fi character from contemporary sports/movies/TV series to fight alongside you, who would it be?

For me it would either be Mike Tyson or that Marine drill sergeant from full metal jacket.

What the heck I'll play.

Unarmed, either Saotome Ranma or Tendo Akane.

Armed with Non-lethal weapons, Himura Kenshin.

Why these people that you have never heard of unless you are into Japanese anime? Simply because in their respective stories they are heroes that would most likely fight by my side. Most of the cool villains out there would undoubtedly kill the bad guys then go on to steal my wallet themselves.

Now what is this I am unarmed stuff? That is just plain crazy.

I occasionally catch an episode of Samurai X every now and then myself.

But I'd like to replace Mike Tyson with Clint Eastwoods character in "Heartbreak Ridge".

I'd pick Mr. T! If he wasn't able to kick serious butt all by himself, the sight of all those gold chains around his neck would distract the goblins enough for me to quietly fade away into the darkness and wait for the rest of the A-team to arrive. Since they never seem to kill anyone even though they shoot up everything in sight, I think they fit the definition of being "unarmed". My turn to ride "shotgun" in their black van as we escape, yet again, from the Military and Law enforcement!

Okay since Tamara is finds "unarmed" to be uncomfortable. I shall change the fight parameters....:D

Add 2 more thugs to bring the total to 7 and add ONE of the weapons below to your strong hand:

1)escrima stick
2)tactical folder
3)brass knuckles
4)Mace brand (CN/OC) triple action fogger spray

How now my dear friends?

Rosie O'Donnell. After all, I don't have to run faster than the bad guys....

For a little more useful answer, without quibbling over what is sci-fi, I'd wimp out and grab Jackie Chan.

Jim, didn't Andre use to break up gangs for charity, that kind of thing?

This just occurred to me.....what about psychotic rock stars?

Axl Rose from guns and roses looks like a good candidate. Hit him in the face first to make sure that he can't run with you, then shove him towards the bad guys and get the heck out of dodge while the goblins pound him into the pavement.

Holland from the book The Evil That Men Do. (Its a '70s book... although I think they made a movie loosely based on the book, I am sur eit sucked and didnt compare to the book. Book is good. Get the book.)

If not him, then Anita Blake from the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton. Yeah... she works. :)

I gotta agree with the Wolverine thing...

But, um, how about Steven Seagal about 15 years ago?

Neo from "Matrix"

Blade from "Blade II" (he fought better in the second one).

Here's a blast from the past lil' campers...

Bruce Leroy from "The Last Dragon"

Any comments?:D

Hmm....

Shaolin Monk Liu Kang. Though, his Fireball special move might be considered a firearm-weapon. :D

I would have to go with Duncan MacLeod, from the Highlander. Not only is he a bad a**, he is imortal, get past that.
