So what will be your next handgun purchase??

January 1, 2003, 02:35 AM
OK- We have seen post of what was the last gun you purchased, but how about the next gun you are purchasing? Not idle wishing here, but ones you have your sites on and are saving away for right now?
Me- I thing my next gun will be a Quick Action Walther P-99 in 9mm, and I have about 40% squirrled away right now, and am inticapating making the purchase via either Gunbroker or Guns America in March...
How about You??

I just bought a brace of replica Colt 1860 .44 caliber army revolvers from Cabela's.

My next purchase will probably be a Ruger Bisley Vaquero in .45 Colt.

January 1, 2003, 03:01 AM
A Heckler und Koch P2000 Euro model..:scrutiny: :D

January 1, 2003, 03:07 AM
Buy back some I had to sell due to an emergency in the family.
[lump, hard swallow]

January 1, 2003, 03:14 AM
Whichever one I can find the better deal on: Springfield M1A1, HK USPc 45 (maybe stainless), SIG P220ST or a Colt 1991a1 stainless.

January 1, 2003, 10:12 AM
Oh geez....lemme think here

I still need: A nice Browning HiPower An "N" frame in .44MAG (to go with my .41) A nice EG Makarov (to go with my Bulgarians & Russians) A 4" 1911 A CZ pistol

If I stumble across a good deal on anyone of these I'd be prepared to buy - but discretion may force me to wait until after I'm done with my daughter's tuition.

January 1, 2003, 10:40 AM
Got my eye on an SA loaded model.

January 1, 2003, 12:11 PM
I'm still playing with my new G29!! I have turned it into a custom gun project, so money spent on anything new will be spent on "improvements" to the Glock!! :D

January 1, 2003, 12:16 PM
Looking for a sigpro two-tone in .357SIG, and looking forward to the impending SIG P226ST....release date changes every month.

January 1, 2003, 12:19 PM
Snub nose .38.

January 1, 2003, 12:27 PM
Commander size Sprinfield 1911. Oddly enough, I shoot the Commander length better than the standard full size. Go figure?

January 1, 2003, 12:33 PM
Well I live in Maryalnd so I may have bought my last handgun for a while. But I do have a list of guns to look for.

Ruger SP101
Ruger GP100 4"
Sig 226 9mm
Glock 17
Beretta 92 Compact

Any of those will do nicely. But I have to recover from the 2 I bought in December.

January 1, 2003, 01:28 PM

Thats really hard. I want guns that'll last forever so maybe a steel Browning Hi Power or CZ. Maybe even another 1911.

January 1, 2003, 01:31 PM
Probably a S&W 627 Performance Center. If I can find a like new used one.

January 1, 2003, 01:39 PM
Rohrbaugh R-9.

Never seen one. Never read any range reports. Never met anybody who's met anybody who's touched, seen, or fired one, but I'm ready to buy!

I've been ready to hand my money over for months now, but it's just not available... yet!

Next month! :D

January 2, 2003, 12:09 AM
Whatever gun is calling to me at the next gunshow. Could be another 1911, Blackhawk, Sig or ......

Dr. J
January 2, 2003, 12:12 AM
NAA Black Widow. . .just because.

January 2, 2003, 12:27 AM
Another HK or another Beretta.

January 2, 2003, 12:51 AM
Walther P99 or SA XD-9.Whichever I find first for the right price!tom.:D

January 2, 2003, 05:19 AM

This makes me chuckle, my mind changes daily on this subject!

My list is as follows, so far. It will probably change 5 times in the next week as to which to buy first.:p For 2003 this what I have on my agenda.

2-3" .44 Special Revolver

4" .45 ACP S&W PC

4" Springfield XD or Ruger P95 or 97

A 1911A1 which I haven't narrowed down to brand yet

The PC .45 will probably be last but, everytime I see it I want to just say screw it and write a check! :banghead: The .44 snub will probably be this weekend.

Marshall :scrutiny:

January 2, 2003, 08:08 AM
Kimber. Hopefully it'll be mine this time next week.

January 2, 2003, 12:19 PM
I currently have a Steyr M40 on layaway. After that, something in 10mm, unless a nice Bulgarian Makarov crosses my path first. I really need a .357 revolver, too.

January 2, 2003, 12:24 PM
Dan Wesson Razorback #99

reminds me I need to call and add some extra mags to the order

January 2, 2003, 12:55 PM
I'm thinking about getting a Glock or CZ75b. Or maybe I'll just save my money and get some of my guns refinished (hardchrome?).

January 2, 2003, 12:55 PM
As soon as I get my pistol license, a P22 and a 4" Mateba in .357

January 2, 2003, 03:17 PM
i'm in the 10 day waiting period for the paperwork to be cleared on a new CZ 75. yay me :)

although, i'm in maryland so there's a 30 day wait for the next handgun that i had to prepay for the FFL dealor to hold for me -- a ruger super redhawk in .454 casull -- wheee! of course in maryland new rugers are now banned b/c they do not/will not have the integrated lock. thus my willingness to prepay for it for the dealor to hold on and file the paperwork in a month...grumbly.

I know the Maryland feeling. I bought a new Glock 23 in November, and a Sig 239 in December. Ended up not enjoying the Glock, there was a BHP in the case at the range, traded the Glock and some cash to get the BHP. But I have to wait until 1-30-03 to pick up the BHP because the Sig didn't come home until 12-30-02. It's been a hectic and really expensive 2 month period, and a really expensive December. But now I don't know when I can buy a new pistol so I'm glad I got the Sig and the BHP.

January 2, 2003, 06:50 PM
I thought there was a thread about this already. :uhoh:

I'll buy a Rohrbaugh R-9 next. But than again, that CZ-75 dual tone keeps looking at me from the gun case.

January 2, 2003, 08:06 PM
My next purchase will be a Ruger NM BH .45 convertable with the short barrel.
It will be a companion piece to my OM 7.5" .45.
I already have the Power Custom Action, and Belt Mountain base pin sitting here waiting for it.

Gary A
January 2, 2003, 08:28 PM
First of 2003 will be a Browning Hi-Power, 9mm, fixed sights, silver chrome. Made the deal today. Next will (hopefully) be a 1977 Belgian-made Hi-Power in bee-yoo-ti-ful condition.

January 2, 2003, 08:52 PM
Systema 1911

January 2, 2003, 09:14 PM
Kimber Royal, that's what I'm lookiing at. May have to put if off longer, may be getting an Enfield rifle first.

January 2, 2003, 09:16 PM
My next handgun is going to be a Para Ordnance C7.45 LDA. Had it on order for 6 weeks now and expecting it in another 2. They must be popular with this long of a wait.

January 2, 2003, 10:28 PM
More than likely a keltec p32 for carry at work. I currently carry a walther ppk/s in a bellyband but in the summer I wont be able to wear the vest I keep on after I take my winter coat off. I think Im pretty well concealed without the vest because close friends and family dont know or are surprised when I tell them but I dont want to take chances with my job.

January 2, 2003, 11:06 PM
CZ75SA in 9mm.
S&W Model 19 or 27 would be nice.
Will have T/C Encore pistol by the end of the year for sure.

Captain Bligh
January 2, 2003, 11:47 PM
I have four handguns. All are steel. I don't have any plastic. in the place. Next on my shopping list is a Glock 19. After that, maybe a second 1911?

January 2, 2003, 11:48 PM
An SV full length dustcover, AET bull barrelled, limited gun in hard chrome.

January 3, 2003, 12:57 AM
P99, compact or SW99 in 45 ACP
But I promised my wife we'll get a revolver for her. a .357 magnum.
But then I afford a CZ much sooner...

January 3, 2003, 01:55 AM
Most likely a Glock 23.

January 3, 2003, 05:58 AM
I really want to pick up a Walther P22.

January 3, 2003, 11:27 AM
A Glock 36. I *love* small 45ACPs!! I already have a SIG P245 and a Para Carry C6.45 LDA (smallest production 45 DA pistol in production). Tough to shoot, but still lots of fun.

January 3, 2003, 11:55 AM
Either snub .38 or .38/.357 or Sig 239 or Sig 2340 or Glock 19 or Glock 23. Need to shoot the latter two side by side and see which deal pops up first.

January 3, 2003, 03:26 PM
Either a S&W 629 4'' or a Colt Officers XS---want both really bad---but the budget dictates I only choose one :(.

January 3, 2003, 03:52 PM
Springfield Professional.

January 3, 2003, 05:56 PM
Thinking of a Ruger P-94 in .40 S@W or a Glock 23. Ruger's cheaper so I could take it home sooner but I would really like to own a Glock.

January 3, 2003, 07:39 PM
As soon as my blued Colt 1991-A1 is sold (should be this weekend or perhaps Monday) It will be another Colt 1991-A1 only this time a new rollmark in stainless :D

Coupled with a Mossberg 590 Marinecoat 12 guage:D :D :D

January 3, 2003, 08:36 PM
Good question....

I'm thinking about a .357magnum revolver - either Ruger GP100, SP101 or S&W 19, 66, 686 or a Glock 26 or a Kahr PM9.

My carry gun right now is a G19. Need something smaller for summer carry and maybe something larger for home defense.

Can't buy all at once! :(

January 3, 2003, 10:01 PM
for an HK USP45c, hmmmmmm, the p220 looks good too,

I dunno.

Warmest regards

Fair 'n Square
January 5, 2003, 11:24 PM
Ruger P944.

There's a gun show coming up in February. Last one I went to, I found a Ruger P944 I wanted sooo bad! I walked away and took five minutes to think it over, and when I decided to get it, someone else had bought it. Next time I'll think it over holding the gun in my paws! I'm hoping I can find another deal like the one I lost.

January 6, 2003, 01:23 AM
I have an AK47 on layaway.

I'm expanding my horizons.

January 6, 2003, 03:37 AM
CZ97b or Spring mil-spec

January 6, 2003, 05:29 AM
itll have to be an mpa 10,the newest mac told for 350 bucks, theyre well made and use grease gun mags.

January 6, 2003, 02:19 PM
Khar MK 40 Elite 98

It packs a .40 caiber punch in a package not much bigger than a mouse gun.

January 6, 2003, 07:56 PM
1911 in 9mm, either STI Trojan or Dan Wesson Patriot (if and when it becomes available).

January 7, 2003, 05:19 PM
Either a Ruger GP-100 4", or a .22 revolver of some kind; more than likely a S&W K-17 if I can find one.

January 8, 2003, 08:57 AM
Walther P88 compact.

January 8, 2003, 11:13 AM
Hi Power or maybe even a pre ban AR-15.

January 8, 2003, 11:42 AM
Already did it.

Three at once.

S&W (all). M28-2 6", M57 6" (no dash, cherry), and a Mod. 1955.

Way cool.;)

January 8, 2003, 12:30 PM
I need to re-hash mine. I have an STI BLS9 on the way.

January 8, 2003, 03:26 PM
I think I'll cool the handgun purchasing for a while and concentrate on scraping the bread together to get some quality training.

I just bought a Glock 26 last week, and along with my CZ75BD (and its .22 adapter), my 1911, my S&W 625 .45 ACP revolver, my S&W 617 10-shot .22 revolver, my S&W 642 .38 snubby, my Colt Python, my S&W Model 19, and my Makarov, I think I've got all of the bases covered, save one. At some distant point in the distant future, I'd like to get a S&W 629 .44 Mag.

January 8, 2003, 03:32 PM
Probably a XD. I shot my friends a couple of times when he first got it about a year ago and liked it. Just haven't got around to getting one yet.

January 8, 2003, 04:45 PM
Sig P220

January 8, 2003, 05:04 PM
I'm picking this up tomorrow...

A Springfield Armory Longslide

January 8, 2003, 09:49 PM
My "to get" list as prioritized:

1. Beater 1911, a Norinco NP30 or any high-cap Armscor or IDS Ranger if available.
2. Subcompact, HS2000 or Kahr K/P/E-9 if available, may be first in line as funds allow
3. plinker 22LR, possibly a Bersa thunder 22

January 8, 2003, 10:48 PM
Hopefully a P7M8 within a month if everything falls into place.

January 8, 2003, 10:55 PM
Picked up a G26 last weekend. So, it is off my list. Next? Hmmm, maybe a .357 wheel gun.

January 9, 2003, 12:33 PM
Got a Beretta 92F with Hi Cap Mags on Lay Away. Thinking about the new Smith & Wesson 1911. Need more info on it first.

Sean Smith
January 9, 2003, 12:58 PM
Once I start my new job, I'm probably going to shop around and get a good deal on a Colt Delta Elite to replace the one I had to sell a while ago. Have a good 'smith do some mild custom work on it for me. I just don't feel right without a King Kong 10mm blaster. :D

January 9, 2003, 01:40 PM
Unfortunately not old enough to buy my own handguns yet. :banghead: And seeing as how I will be in the Navy in a few weeks, it is a wash. So until I leave in February I will be begging my dad for components to keep feeding my 9mms (Walther P-990, Glock 17 and 26). Oh well. But when I get out of the Navy, I may have to purchase a new handgun. So I've got 6 years to think about it. :(

s&w 24
January 9, 2003, 02:13 PM
probably a colt sistema 1927 or a taurus 431/441 or a norinco walter 22 copy

January 9, 2003, 03:53 PM
Will not be anytime soon but I am resolved to re-acquire a SIG 225. This is the only gun I have ever parted with that I really regret doing so.

January 10, 2003, 02:11 AM
I usually decide what categories I need to fill first. Then when money and opportunity collide I buy whatever fits the "best buy at the time" category.
I want a 380 ACP:
I tried to buy a CZ 83 but the local prices went up quickly. I also considered a Bersa and a Makarov.
I don't really need a 380ACP so I can wait.
I want a CZ 75/85 or a BHP but the bargains seemed illusive. I would never use it for SD since I 'm a GLOCKer and I have a couple of other 9MMs. I can wait.
I want another Ruger 357 mag -- but I don't shoot the one I have very much. I can wait.
I want a 1911 -- a price break came to me and I bought a Springer Milspec for $419.95
I will spend more money on training and accessories this year.

January 10, 2003, 09:40 AM
Springfield Armory XD-40sw 5inch barrel. Two tone if I can find it.
To match my Walther P99 .40sw OD

January 11, 2003, 02:16 AM
A second Springfield Professional.

Because, to paraphrase the ad campaign for the famous potato chip, "you can't have just one".

Then another week at Gunsite, because you can't get too much good training.

January 11, 2003, 02:46 AM
Another CZ would be nice. Probably a 75BD since the price is so good on them right now.

January 11, 2003, 03:58 AM
It will be either a CZ-83, or a Springfield armory 1911 Mil Spec. I know I'll end up getting both, but I don't know which one I'll get first.

January 11, 2003, 06:55 AM
Sig 229 40cal 2 tone:cool:

for an extra 100 get the .357 barrel and now I have 2 guns

Brian Williams
January 11, 2003, 07:19 AM
Well since I just picked up my Systema Colt yesterday, I am now looking for a nice 586-2 or a 19-3, but I can not decide wether 4" or 6"

January 11, 2003, 10:07 AM
I'm lusting after a Sig 239, most likely in .357.

January 11, 2003, 08:42 PM
Probably a stainless double action revolver, caliber either .38 Special or .45 Colt. I've about narrowed my choice to a Ruger Redhawk with 5.5" barrel or a vintage S&W Model 64. (Or maybe I'll just spring for both!)

January 11, 2003, 09:08 PM
Keltec P3AT

January 11, 2003, 09:29 PM
Kimber Custom II. Ordered it today, should be shooting it next weekend.

January 11, 2003, 10:10 PM
A nice MkIII Belgium HP, or a 4" 1911

January 11, 2003, 10:11 PM
My Kimber Custom Compact stays on the night stand. It carrys very comfortably, but is too heavy to compare with the Keltec P-40 for all day long carry. The Kimber is more accurate, giving me about 2" smaller groups at 25 yds. than the Keltec. but for the distances I would most likely have to use it, it's a moot point.

During the X'mas season, while geting in the car I somehow managed to hit the door jam & swipe the clip off my Alessi Talon + holster for the P-40, so have been carrying an old S&W M65 for the past few weeks while Lou Alessi is putting on a new belt clip. I discovered last week I can still can pop the head off a squirrel at 25 yds (he was destroying the bird feeder across the parking lot from my shop) with the S&W M65 revolver. He was chewing up my bird feeder & the '65 was on my hip, so..... the 125g Golden Sabres didn't leave much for the dogs to clean up. ;-)

The P-40's holster arrived back in todays mail, repaired without an invoice. I emalled Lou Alessi asking him to let me pay for replacing the clip, as it was my fault the dang thing broke.....

My body is sure going to be happy to be carrying the Keltec P-40 again! It's about 1/2 the weight of the Kimber or M65, & after 8 hours or so, that's a BIG relief! THANKS LOU!

January 12, 2003, 11:15 AM
Probably a 92FS to back up my Elite II.

Now as we are about to get stuck with some bastard laws down here in OZ, in the near future (120mm barrel length for pistols, 100mm for revolvers, 10 round mags, 9mm maximum calibre) I can see the following:

S&W outdoorsman, 6.5 inch barrel. 38 special on an N frame, because I want it. :)

Springfield XD Tactical to replace my glock 17 & 19, as soon as they are imported.

9mm H&K Tactical is also a possibility as they will still be legal.

My girlfriend wants a stainless Beretta Vertec to go with her 92FS.

Custom 4 inch barrel for my model 60 S&W so I can keep it.

S&W 4 inch model 66 for my dad to replace his 640.

And a custom built STI single stack in 38 super may be on the cards later in the year.

Hmm. quite a shopping list. I better get to work and make some money. :)

January 13, 2003, 02:11 AM
Another Colt 357 with six inch barrel.

Duke of Lawnchair
January 13, 2003, 03:27 AM
Wilson KZ45
Glock 17
Sig P220

I'll eventually purchase all three (I hope...) but for now am having a difficulty trying to decide which one...

Maybe I'll draw one out of a hat?

January 15, 2003, 10:37 AM
Either an H&K USP Tactical with a Gem-tech can or an S&W F-comp from the Performance Center.

January 15, 2003, 08:35 PM
I have been looking at the Kel tec pistols for CCW, and I cannot decide wich one. So I think I will get one of the P32's and a P11, and maybe even carry them both :D

January 15, 2003, 10:01 PM
I'm looking at a Glock 21. I figure I've bought plenty of 1911's, it's time I get a gun that I wouldn't mind getting a little beat up. I love the .45 ACP, so I think I'll just get other guns chambered for it. My next .45 ACP guns will probably be a revolver, CZ-97, Ruger P-90, Beretta 8045, Sig, and a G-30.

Man, I gotta start saving!

I always have my eye out for lonely Norinco 1911's, though...

January 15, 2003, 10:04 PM
A HK USP in 9 and a BHP Practical or Mk III...

Thats next on the list

Gary A
January 15, 2003, 10:59 PM
Radagast - the shop I deal with regularly has a very nice Model 23 S&W Outdoorsman, N-frame, 6.5 inch barrel, .38 special, looks to be real, real clean and very tight. I think he has a price of about 340 on it. Don't know how much wiggle on that number. If you're interested give a holler here and I'll let you know the particulars for contacting him. I don't see them too often and if I didn't have other things higher on my list and if I were a bit richer than I am I'd get it me own self.
