I just traded into an Inglis Hi-Power, sn 4T2xxx, and was wondering if there was some on-line resource that would tell me when it was made. Or does someone here know? Thanks

Go here:

www.fnhipower.com

You may have to post and ask but there are some very knowledgable HP people there and they can probably tell you when your Inglis was made.

Thanks. I went there but didn't find the forum. I thought it was mainly articles. I'll try harder

I just noticed "Spectrum West International Van Nuys, Ca" is stamped on the bottom of the frame. Does that mean anything to anyone.

Thanks, Coltdriver. I registered and posted on the Hi-Power forum. Between here and there, I'm sure I'll get the answer.

this is what I have on the Inglis HP

In 1942 John Inglis Co. of Canada was asked to supply the Model 1935 (HP) pistols to China. The project started slwyly, as metric dimensions had to be converted, but production, 151,816, guns were made from February 1944 to sept 1945. some of these were supplied to Breitish, Canadian and Greeek forces in addition to the Chinese.

The British Army recognised four variants of the Model 1935: Pistol Browning, FN 9mm No 1 MK 1 with a back sight adjustable to 500 Meters and provisions for shoulder stock;

Pistol Browning FN 9mm N MK1* with an improved ejetor and a modified back sight;

Pistol Browning, FN 9mm No2. MK1 with a fixed rear sight and no stock lug and

Pistol Browning FN 9mm No2 MK 2 a variant the improved ejector.
