While I hate to admit it, my M48A has become my favorite rifle. Does anyone know how to tell what year these things were made in? I know it's a minor point, but it's the kind of thing that keeps me up at night.

Well, It's against my religion as a Longhorn to talk to a Sooner (especially one living south of the Red River), but it's not October really, so I guess it's OK. ;) ;) ;) ;) Try two other forums if you don't get an answer here. The Yugo Mauser forums here should get you some results.

Good luck. I have an unissued M48a and it's a beautiful rifle. Don't know when it was made though.

Don't ever refer to a distiguished OSU 'Poke alumni such as my self as a lowly sooner. Them's fighting words around my parts. Whacha gonna do next, call my Momma a husker?:D
Thanks for the remind about Parallax's board, them folks seem to be pretty smart about such things.

Can't date a rifle socially, doesn't have the right parts. But if they did...if they did....
