Great surface for engraving tho' come to think of it.

Never thought of a Glock as a basis for artwork, but, whatever floats your boat.

Butterflys are free?

PS Maybe you could post the photo in the "Best handgun for female" thread. I heard that Pax says Cute is good.:D

Your gun, you paid for it, I guess you can do with as you please :what:

January 4, 2003, 11:16 AM
WAIT A MINUTE.....let me clarify...It IS NOT my gun!!!!

No Tactical Butterflies on my guns. I just found it on the net. But your right, the flat sides and un-busy design just screams for some tastefull engraving.

January 4, 2003, 11:20 AM
If its engraved with butterflies, pink bunnies, marshmellow Peeps or something similar, is it no longer evil?
Could you imagine the look on the cops face if they show up at a shooting and find this gun? This thing would have to play on the juries mind.
Wait a second....the new fad...Anti-Tactical!!!!

January 4, 2003, 11:21 AM
It does make for a rather, um, broad canvas.

I've thought about having the top of my G29 slide engraved to resemble the flight deck of the U.S.S. Nimitz. :D

LMAO@Tam...but you've got me thinking. Now where is that $500 I stashed for a dire emergency.

Any Bullwinkle/Glock fans?

A little more my style

January 4, 2003, 11:34 AM
Maybe some 'Life Free or Die' or 'Molon Labe' or something similar. Butterflies and Bullwinkle are fine for a show gun, but not a serious carry gun.

In my NSHO.

Butterflys... NOT!

Killer Bees... maybe?

With 5 Glocks in the family and a tattoo artist son, may be a possibility.

But I kinda doubt it.

I would like to see a TFL/Molon Labe Commemorative Glock.

If I was going to engrave my Glock's, the first thing I would enscribe would be <insert obscure song lyric> "why have a 9 when I can have a 10"

So, Carbon 15, don't keep us in suspense...
What's the URL, there must be more where those came from.

January 4, 2003, 02:22 PM
It might be a womans gun.;)

January 4, 2003, 02:43 PM
to engrave:

"My other gun's a 1911."

OHHH..that was cheap...funny...but cheap

tlhelmer, anything that helps convince a lady to carry a gun is a Good Thing.

January 4, 2003, 04:19 PM
"My other gun's a 1911."

January 4, 2003, 04:36 PM
That's not odd. If those butterflies flew off the slide & started flying around the room. Now that would be odd.

They call that a "flashback" dude...

January 4, 2003, 08:21 PM
Um a flashback would be if the butterflies were moving while still on the slide.

January 4, 2003, 10:08 PM
I'm waiting to see a Glock with gold teeth.:p

Good Shooting

Here I am about to turn 44, twenty year veteran LEO, shift Sgt and ya know whut?

I kinda like the butterflies...:scrutiny:

(Who's gonna go out and watch the lil bunnies play in his yard)

January 6, 2003, 01:36 AM
The perfect grips for that butterfly engraved Glock.

You HAVE to see this.

January 6, 2003, 02:39 AM
I like the butterflies. Cute does matter! ;)

The, um, grips mentioned by Archie? :uhoh: Maybe the guy who dreamed those up was drunk at the time. That would explain it. A clear-cut case of beauty being in the eyes of the beer-holder.

I'm tired of all this nonsense about beauty being only skin-deep. What do you want, an adorable pancreas? -- Jean Kerr

Better than the colors that Charles Daly has on some of their polymer framed guns. That is, I was fine with the colors, but not the shades they ended up being.
I would have liked it better if the butterflies were colored in, perhaps in iridescents.

January 6, 2003, 09:14 PM
Oh...Warner Brothers scrimshaw grips...pin covered to boot.:D

Wonder if they have some of Taz the Tasmanian Devil? Since he looks like me, it would work great for my Commander:D

January 7, 2003, 12:43 AM
Yosemite Sam grips for my 36 caliber cap and ball gun. Better yet, a pair!!

January 7, 2003, 01:49 AM
No thread dealing with guns that have cutesy things on them would be complete without the Hello Kitty 1911!

the engraving on the Makarov and the Arminius were just practise!!!!!

Next, someone will be making fitted target grips for Ravens.....

January 7, 2003, 07:20 PM
... a couple friends and I have been talking about building "theme 1911s", using Dye paintball "sticky grips" (available in many colors), and different colored anodizing or plating (yes... chrome IS available in colors). Think about it: red chrome slide, matching controls, green anodized frame, clear crip panels with colored LEDs (and a Merry Christmas to you, too!)... :what:

Ok... so I need a life. Sue me... my lawyer can beat yours up... :neener:
