For me personally it's the 9mm , 45 auto, and 38 specials are kind of fun . Iam not really into recoil so those are my favorites :)

357, 38spcl, 45acp & .22LR.
Tend to shoot more 38spcl than the magnums. Always try to get in a few cylinders of full house hunting loads per trip though.

I shoot most 45, because I like to keep my control disipline with the firearm. Less accidents that way.

Next the S&W 40. With it's recoil I need all the pratice I can get to assure the ability to hit exactly what I want to hit.

Last the 9mm, I find it very easy to shoot all day long to the point of it not providing much of a challange, but lots of gratificaton for the tight shot patterns.

I use a 223 and a MP-5 quite a bit also, but more for jam/clear routines, they cost too much to run all the time!

38 Special. Love revolvers. DA natural point shooting is so fun. Can't get the same joy from a revolver.

Most often, 9mm followed by 38 spcl. When I can afford it I like to shoot .357 magnum. I also really enjoy shooting .22 because it's cheap and just as good as any of the above for target practice.

"Totin' my old .44" for non-range pistol shooting (hunting).

Sort of switches up, depending on my mood any given range day ... but, generally, my preferences are:

1. .45
2. .22
3. 9mm
4. 38/357

In that order.

.22lr (cheap, recoil non issue, brass is disposable)

.38spl, .357mag, .44mag (easy to recover brass)

9mm (so cheap, no need to chase brass)

.22lr of course. I find that a medium load .38 Spec in a K frame is about the most I can Enjoy for a time. That being about equal with light .357 in a GP100 or light .45ACP in a 625. I just don't enjoy recoil. Give me a .22 any day.

I say .22LR because I shoot 25 of these to every one of the other calibers... so inexpensive and accurate out of Ruger slabside.

Either .22 and .38 or .22 and 9x19.

The .22 nearly always comes along, either in the form of a .22/45, a S&W M18, M617, or M17.

The .38's come out as M&P's, the occasional M14, the M64, a M66, and others.

The main 9x19 right now is the Glock 19, but the Sig 239 gets to stretch its legs here and there.

If the range is outdoors, especially if there is 50-100yd points, the 1911 in .45 and the M29 come out to play.

A couple weeks ago I would have said 45ACP, but ever since I put a new grip on my 44Mag, that gun's become real fun. 22LR also is on the short list.

Use all three in IDPA, so that what I practice with at the range,
rarely shoot .357 or .22, though I keep those rounds handy.
