Be nice to have more than a handful of people wandering around with signs saying "I am not a criminal!"

Now, I'll bet that their organizers (and they've probably got a team on it) go to community centers, or other existing orgs, and pick folks up and bus 'em to the venue. We're not that organized.

How can we get 30-40 pro-civil-liberties folks there? Preferably with some short, but pointed, signage?

What did I miss? Can someone fill me in please?

Does chuck's gun shop have a website? I searched for one but could not find one, I could always make a purchase from them to help out monetarily.

June 24, 2007, 03:13 PM
I hear two idiots got arrested there yesterday...

June 24, 2007, 03:19 PM
HeavyDuty, PLEASE do not insult idiots!

The rev. JJ and that other...... ummmmm.... person should not be ranked that high!

June 24, 2007, 05:58 PM
If someone can track down a website for Chuck's, we all should order a bunch of stuff to help bolster his business.

June 24, 2007, 06:44 PM
Any possibility of posting the original issue? If something was posted, here, I missed it. Others might not have a clue what's going on, either.

June 24, 2007, 06:57 PM
I would *love* to buy a pistol and or accessories from this guy.

Jesse Jackson is orchestrating an anti-gun campaign in the Chicago area, and Chuck's is the "poster boy" for his campaign. (,1,5875539.story?coll=chi-newslocalchicago-hed)

June 24, 2007, 09:49 PM
Hmmm...... next Friday....... I'm off, I should be able to make it down there to be part of the counter protest.

June 24, 2007, 10:51 PM
I would love to buy something from Chucks, just to stick it in JJ's eye. I may get a phone number and call in the morning to see what they have.

June 25, 2007, 08:47 AM
How about buying ammo from him. No such thing as too much ammo. :)

June 29, 2007, 04:00 PM
Again, Google is our friend. Chuck's Gun Store & Pistol Range is located at: 14310 S Indiana Ave, Riverdale, IL 60827. Phone number is: (708) 849-4455. I don't see a web site listed, but this should get things rolling.

My personal opinion of the Rev Jackson is that he suffers from Attention Deficit (not the disorder). I wonder if it hurts??

June 29, 2007, 04:22 PM
Why isn't the owner of Chuck's Gun Shop doing something else? Personally I'd be filing a civil or criminal lawsuit against Jackson alledging charges of harrassment, tresspassing, defamation of character, inhibiting a private business, and even domestic terrorism.

June 29, 2007, 10:05 PM
So whats the entire story on this and JJ?

June 29, 2007, 11:42 PM
Nobody loves JJ, like he loves himself...and he looooooves himself!

June 29, 2007, 11:47 PM
The Mayor of Riverdale spoke on the cost of police coverage of the demonstrations, the disruption of traffic, etc. She was very complimentary of Chuck's, model of good citizenship, good business to have in town, etc.

Called on the JJ and the "false" priest to cease and desist. Not sure what they did, but the pro-gun guys abided by her wishes and didn't go. That fact was pointed out by at least one person in a letter to the editor of two papers. At least that's what I have picked up from other places.

Maybe someone that's truly "local" to Riverdale can fill us in.

Im not sure.... but I think the last entry in the gun section was supposed to be Mossberg..... unless someone knows a company called Mossoorg?

Chuck's is either firing up the lawyer machine to sue JJ et al for tortious interference ...

... is gloating at all the free national advertising.

either way ...

Good buttons to have and *offer* to hand out, so long as the people who take them promise to wear them:

July 2, 2007, 06:06 PM
I just sent him an e-mail to see if he'll sell me a gun and ship it to CA.

Illegitimate children, he blackmails and extorts money from people or he'll accuse them of racism, his boys were handed Alcohol distributer ships, the largest in Chicago and this guy is worried about guns?

How many people in Chicago were killed by drunk drivers this year YOU HYPOCRITE!!

July 2, 2007, 10:27 PM
JJ knows what he is. I know what he is. God knows what he is. God has a special place in Hades just for him.

July 3, 2007, 07:40 AM
Amen, brother.

I didn't know Catholic Church's had Pastors.

What can I do from Texas to help this guy out?
A member of our organization took it upon himself to contact Chuck's Gun Shop and start a small fundraising drive for them. It's not officially affiliated with Ohioans For Concealed Carry, but it's being discussed on our forums. I donated some funds.

Just thought you might be interested.

July 3, 2007, 11:33 AM
I just sent Chuck an e-mail of support.

July 3, 2007, 02:34 PM
Make the slogan on that pin "Unarmed and defenseless"

The owner of Chuck's offered to explain how guns are sold and how he became licensed but Jackson refused, I guess we really know who the ignorant one is here.

Liberals never want facts to obscure an argument that they fight with emotion; I just hope everyone gets tired of JJ's poverty-pimpin'-shakedown act; I'm more afraid of Hillary if she gets elected; the rest of the 49 will be just like Kali.

I was talking to my local shop owner who also had his shop protested at and have some good news. Riverdale passed an ordinance requiring a $3000 permitt for future protests so the next time those idiots come to town it will cost them. Melrose Park was supposedly passing the same law. Hopefully Lyons passes the same law so Midwest Guns is protected.

July 10, 2007, 10:37 PM
LoadedDrum, not to rain on what you said, but the city requiring $3000 to allow a protest to go on is against the 1st Amendment.

July 10, 2007, 10:40 PM
...good news. Riverdale passed an ordinance requiring a $3000 permitt for future protests...

Not good news, as I see it. While it is inconvenient for Je$$e and company, the money is a pittance to them. On the other hand, such an ordnance will likely someday come back to bite us, less wealthy and less organized individuals, in the ass.

Free speech may be a pain sometimes, but I'd rather it remained free.

July 10, 2007, 10:55 PM
If the ACLU doesn't get to that ordinance first, anyone who is denied the right to protest because they didn't pay the government , can take that city to court and win on unconstitutional grounds, and thereby cost tax-payers lots of money, and make the city look extremely stupid. Who would vote for that nonsense? I understand the issue with a protest getting out of hand and costing a business money, but requiring a payment to allow a protest is asking for trouble.

July 11, 2007, 11:21 AM
Wouldn't that make great press! 'Gun owners sue for right of gun haters to protest.':neener:

July 11, 2007, 01:51 PM
The rational was that it was costing Riverdale $3000 dollars a day to staff police for these things. When these idiots have to get a permit well in advance, it is additional warning for us rather than last saturday when they just showed up a Suburban Sporting Goods.

July 11, 2007, 02:39 PM
And let Chuck and his patrons take care of this problem.

July 15, 2007, 12:54 PM
I say that the owner should be in court when jj goes in front of the judge and when jj is done in court,Chucks should hand him a leagle paper of a defamation of character, harrasment, and hold jj accountable for destroying his business name and reputations of being a LEAGLE GUN DEALER AND STORE OWNER!!!!!! rich642z,Omaha,Ne.:):):):)

July 15, 2007, 01:24 PM
I agree that Chuck should sue JJ if his business begins to fail. If he sufferes no loss, no harm, then no suit. Besides, I am not certain that one can sue for another being a mindless fool.

I lived in the town next to Riverdale IL, before I retired & moved in '96. If I remember correctly, Chuck's Gun Shop was owned by a retired policeman. Of course that was years ago and things change. Police officers from Chicago and the surrounding area went there. The gun grabbers closed down the gun shop in my town and some others in surrounding communities. Their tactics do work. They have driven out honest business owners whose only "crime" was selling a "politically IN-correct" product to law abiding citizens. They've succeeded in the past and will continue to do so in the "peoples republik of liberals"AKA Illinois. After all, they have hard core "Brady bunch gun grabbers" as elected officials in Gov Blagovich and "Da Mare" Daley. The "sheeple" of Chicago, Cook Co., and Illinois(larger cities) have been voting these "gun grabbers" into office since the turn of the 20th century. They bend over, grab the ankles and smile. They simply can not comprehend the fact that you can actually vote for something other than the "demcrat party." And the so-called "Reagan democrats" are long gone from the scene. It is an up hill battle there and other "bastions of liberalism, socialism and communism." Je$$e "Jet$tream" Jack$on has honed his opportunistic "race baiting, race hustling, welfare & poverty pimping" scams on the streets of Chicago years ago. And the nation suffers his scams then and now. He has lost some currency, but, he has latched on to his ANTI-gun & ANTI-2nd Amendment bigotry with zeal. He is trying to recapture some "cachet" that he has lost, with his far leftist supporters. AND he believes he has found the perfect vehicle for his "resurrection" to the national & international scene. WE supporters of the Constitution, Bill of Rights and the 2nd Amendment are fighting a formidable opponent. Do not take them for granted. Be vigilant! Be active!
