agony- great weapons and nice pic's. I currently do not
own a digi camera; but I do own two SIG-Sauer
firearm's; both West German made and assembled, and
complete with the German "proofhouse" marking's.

My favorite, the P220A made and assembled in 1995;
and the runner-up, a P228 made and assembled in
1990! They are my "GO TO" firearms of choice!

Best Wishes,
Ala Dan, N.R.A. Life Member

Those are the Nill grips?

Yup. I just got a card from Nill saying they had such a good year that they are able to lower their prices 10-15% in 2003 and on. Now I have to get another handgun to buy a set for!

December 27, 2002, 10:06 AM
Thanks for the info. Time to check the Nill website.;)

Yeah blades, I know the feeling. I wanted to join the digital age also, but still doing it the old fashioned way....take pics with a film camera, scan negs onto a CD, convert to jpg format and upload. A lot of the developing fees will necessitate the jump to digital.

Don't worry bro. I was asking for a new digi camera too, didn't got one this year but a couple guns showed up under the Christmas tree though. I'll just hang on to my crappy Kodak digi camera.

I've used my scanner to get some pretty nice shots of my pistols. Leave the lid open and cover with a towel.

No Sigs to show but Lunde's Sig Pro is a beaut!!!

The Sig Pro is the best kept secret in polymer handguns..superbly engineered..take a look at their slide rails, locking block and the polymer molding!! ;)

Those Sig-Sauers are really nice guns. I have shot them a couple of times and really like their ergonomics.

You may call me heretic but my next pistol might be a Norinco NC-226 which is a faithful copy of Sig P226. I have tried a couple of them and they seem to be well made guns. They are a bit rougher than real Sigs but good shooters. And their price is less than a half of a real thing.

What is a SIG 232SL? What does the "SL" mean?

P232SL= "P232, Stainless, Lightweight"...stainless slide atop an alloy frame. Best of both worlds, the rust resistance of stainless combined with the light weight of alloy. The best version of the 232...all-blue has a finicky finish, all-stainless is heavier by a good margin. Stainless/Alloy is just right.

You know what would be great? An aftermarket rubber cap to flush fit 7 round 220 mags to the 245.

July 24, 2004, 10:47 PM
The first Sigs in the US market were p220s imported by Browning and rebadged as the BDA. This one is a 9mm with a heel mag release. You can see the front of the slide is rounded - rather crudely - and re-blued, presumably to make it look more like a Browning. The slide flats are polished, which looks sort of neat. It's beautifully balanced, and very accurate even by Sig standards.
