Can't find my post

I registered yesterday and posted my first thread. I've logged in several times since then to read the responses and haven't been able to see it in the General Discussion forum. I can find it if I conduct a search, but it doesn't show up if I just visit the forum.

Am I set up wrong or missing something?

That usually means that no responses have been made since the last time you viewed the thread. At the bottom of the page is the search criteria and I believe it defaults to show those threads that have had comments made since the last time you were online or viewed the threads. Something along those lines at least.

You mean this one? http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4278

It's had a number of replies before you posted this thread, including your reply, which was the third one.

Make sure you check the "email notifications" box at the bottom or when you reply to the thread, and the THR mailer will send you an email when somebody replies.

You can also subscribe to the thread anytime, and the THR mailer will likewise notify you.

If you really can't find your thread, click the "search" button at the top of any page, and search for your user name.

Thanks for the replies.

I went in to the General Discussion forum and found it today. But, I swear, it didn't show up for me as a subject last week unless I searched for it. There seemed to be a whole page missing (based on the post times), so maybe that had something to do with it.

If I understand correctly, I only need to subscribe to a thread and check the email notification selection in order to be notified that there has been a response to my post, right? I shouldn't have to do that for it to show up for me as a subject in the forum.

Thanks for your help.

No. You can EITHER check the email notification square when you create, edit a message, or reply to a thread OR you can simply subscribe to a thread without posting to it. They both give the same results.

I don't know any reason why you can't do both, but only one is necessary to be notified of any new posts to the thread.
