I find myself visiting TFL & find a fair number of members still there. Do you still go?

I still visit TFL often, although often I just browse without logging in. Blackhawk's right about it slowing down since THR opened... at 10.14 a.m. Central time this morning, THR had 242 users logged in and 134 guests, for a total of 376 on the board. At the same time, TFL had 51 users logged in and 103 visitors, for a total of 154 on the board.

I try, though I've been quite busy behind the scenes here. I'm sure going to miss TFL - it's been "home" for some time.

Still go to both. Remarkable however, when you look at the who's on the forum box over here, it's like exactly what it use to look like over at the TFL! I am very happy to be here!

No, since THR opened I have not been back to TFL. Mostly I lurked there, and here I'm posting more- maybe because everyone on TFL seemed to know everyone else, just me but I felt a bit of an outsider. Even with alot of the same people here as on TFL it feels like everyone is new in town.

Yep. Still check it. Here's my order of boards:

1. G&A Board
2. THR
3. Rimfire Central
4. Gun-Talk
5. TFL

used to be:
1. G&A Board
2. TFL
3. Rimfire Central

Yep, though I haven't posted in a few days. I'm just lurking and waiting to take my shot at Last Post of TFL. :D

TFL , well became home. I have done some searches, and will continue to use as a reference. Sentimental perhaps, but I think a bunch will be online at TFL to "turn out the lights". A farewell salute.

TFL will always be like a home. There is so much good information there that it would be hard to leave it alone.

I still check the handloading and hunting and rifle sections of TFL and will do so until the end.

This is my first post here. I like THR, it has a comfortable and familiar"feel".

I'll stop back at the old place a few times, to be sure I don't miss private messages, etc. but this is where the growth and future reside.

but less and less at TFL due mostly to a lot less traffic and topic's to post to. I do like this place it has the same flavor and good people as TFL. :D

I visit daily "for the people".
I consider fellow posters family, and the host site as home (in an internet sort of way).
If there are folks still posting at TFL that need an answer to a question that I just might have, I'd like to help.

I am in the transition of finding a new primary site. This seems to be the horse in the lead, though other respectable sites exist as well.

Mildly resentful of being evicted (and of course feeling guilty over that emotion), I try not to visit TFL as often anymore.
Being bitter for a little while is just the way I am, a form of catharsis if you will... it runs in the Snowdog family.

In a couple months, I'll be able to speak of TFL with a grin again.

As far as TFL goes, I said my good-bye's on 24 Dec 02; so
I'm currently dividing time between The High Road, Family-
Friends-Firearms, and Shootersville.

Here, there, a couple other places.

Rich suggested the best outcome of closing TFL would be if we fanned out and took the High Road Philosophy on the road, so to speak. I like this site so far, but I will be checking in on several boards, as time allows.

Well, if TFL is still going to be online but not active, I am envisioning many, many links on this forum to that one in various post.

There is so much good information there.

Its almost like another online encyclopedia.

I still check in at TFL. I'm sort of weaning myself away. I spend more time here now, but I guess I'm afraid I might miss something if I don't take a look at TFL. Maybe the 9 vs. 45 debate will be solved before they shut down. :D

I'll post to TFL until the last minute.

I would be posting and moderating at www.familyfriendsfirearms.com, but for some reason my Mother's computer goes nuts when I visit that site.

I still go over to TFL and still will until they pull the plug in a week or so. It's kind of sad, like walking around your old home but the main thing is that it had a very happy ending:) For some reason I have the desire to write my name on a wall or something.

As the year ends, TFL should be used for searching the vast database on firearms. I will go there as long as the site is up, to search a question before I post it on THR. I suggest everyone else does the same. Saves resources. Hey, this stuff ain't free!

Yep. I'm still hanging out at TFL alot. I've been dividing my time between here, there, and Gun-Talk. For some reason, whenever I start my browser, my fingers type in www.thefiringline.com without me thinking about it.

It's just habit I guess. I'm used to clicking on the TFL shortcut in my favorites menu every day. Old habits are so hard to break. This forum is great though. All the old people are here, so it seems like home.

I used the TFL search option just yesterday to check out a gun I found and it saved me from making a mistake.I had never heard of a Rem. 522 but other members had and I didn't see a good thing said about the little plinker.I didn't post much at TFL but I sure learned alot.I thought the site was going to be left up so the old post can be looked up or am I sadly mistaken? This site looks like it will carry on the TFL tradition but it will take some time to get that much information again if it is lost.

I'm using TFL for research only at this point. Sadly, I only recently discovered TFL after lurking on Shooters for a year or so (got tired of Shooters due to the obnoxious troll that took up residence over there).

Looks like this site has all the comforts of TFL- like coming home.

Hope they can keep it going!
