Revolver front sights?

I'm rebarrelling a Model 63 S&W to bring it into compliance with the new Australian regulations of a 4" minimum barrel length.
I've been thinking about the front sight to fit and would appreciate suggestions from anyone with an idea. On the last rebarrel (a 625), I had a 1/16" keyway cut for a 'friction' fit, but that requires a milling machine.
Are there commercial dovetail front sights available for revolvers?

Yes, you can use many of the dovetailed sights available for 1911 type pistols as well as some of the Weaver line. There are others around also, but I usually just use one of the standard 1911 front sights, and change the contour andheight to the clients application.

I'll follow that advice...there ought to be plenty of 1911 sights at some of the bigger shops, as popular as IPSC was in Australia:(

I just wish the politicians would figure out that the barrel length of a revolver has nothing to do with criminal use...now if you add a perp and a hacksaw into the equation...
:D

Here ya go...

A great way to add the S&W "Classic" style front sight set up to an altered barrel. Tap one hole, plus it's inexpensive to boot!!

Good Luck...

You do realize that those Weigand sights require a mill to install, right? They are a lot more trouble, but a nice sight.

But I am limited out here in the middle of Australia to pretty much what I can do with a file or drill...the paperwork required for moving 'gun parts' across borders without a local dealer makes things more difficult.:(

I have installed several dovetail sights on rifles and, when I had a friend with access to a machine shop, put some nice 'band' type front sights on my Margolin rimfire pistols.

Thanks for the link.
