When I try to add an avatar, I get a screen that says avatars are disabled.
Any ideas?

Thanks,
BamBam

They have the avatar feature turned off for this board to conserve bandwidth. Nobody can have them.

Mitch,
Thanks for the quick reply. I think I got this site confused with GlockTalk and thought that avatars were working now.
Is your clock screwed up? Mine went +4 hrs a few min. ago.

Hows the family? Didn't your wife deliver a baby girl last month?

The times have been screwed up for a day now or so. The wife delivered on Nov. 18th :D. You can check out some pics on a website my brother built for me. http://home.midsouth.rr.com/schaftlfam It's still under construction.

Thanks for the time check.

Boy do those pictures bring back memories; I can't believe that mine's already five years old!

You gonna be able to make the Midsouth Crew Shoot on the 8th of Feb?

Nuts! From the thread title, I thought I might finally find out what an avatar is.

Too bad I'm only curious enough to wonder when I see the word. Otherwise, I might actually look it up! :D

av·a·tar ( P ) Pronunciation Key (v-tär)
n.
The incarnation of a Hindu deity, especially Vishnu, in human or animal form.
An embodiment, as of a quality or concept; an archetype: the very avatar of cunning.
A temporary manifestation or aspect of a continuing entity: occultism in its present avatar.

lol, from www.dictionary.com

An avatar would be a little picture under your name in the forum.

Thanks, MitchSchaft! :D

I've seen them on other boards, and they remind me of the sticky back name tag kids of all ages wear at "mixers".

A bit hokey for my taste, so I'm certainly not going to miss something I don't even like.
