January 14, 2011, 01:50 AM
We already know about the KelTec bullpup shotgun and the Ruger LC9 will get some hands-on coverage. Anyone have information on anything else?

Oh, ha ha, InkEd.

I mean, really--someone just painted a Glock and put on eight of those new AR15 accessory attachment points.

The color will help sell it !!

I am off to vegas today and will try to find some cool firearms to bring home from the collectors show at the riviera over he weekend.
A moderator said they are opening a special section just for the shot show we can post in I hope?
oh the sea food buffet at the Rio tonight! lobster, crab legs oh my!!

January 14, 2011, 08:42 AM
now that was funny!

January 14, 2011, 09:36 AM
I lol'd.

January 14, 2011, 09:44 AM
Well, it's not an actual firearm but Crimson Trace has a 'Lightguard' platform coming out...

January 14, 2011, 10:36 AM
I assume it's a LED flashlight mounted in a pair of their grips instead of the red laser???

Ya' know, I am somewhat anxious to see all the new stuff every year but after being spoiled so much with breakthrough items it's difficult to be amazed by anything less.

I guess we'll have to wait and see....

Midget Kimber with no 1911 in the family tree.

January 14, 2011, 05:43 PM
Wow, that Kimber looks great! Can I have one for less than $1000?

Midget Kimber with no 1911 in the family tree.

Offspring of a Colt 1903 Pocket and Kahr. :)

looks like a micro Tokarev

January 15, 2011, 10:31 AM
I was thing the same thing as JN01. Cross between and old Colt and a new Kahr. I suspect a flop for them. However, I do commend them for trying something new. We shall see soon enough. Anyone who is going to SHOT show should take a "clicker" to keep track of how many new/special/anniversary 1911s are coming out this year.

I think it's great that it's the 100 year anniversary BUT have feeling that fewer people than expected are willing to pay a premium for a collector's model marking the occassion.

January 15, 2011, 03:47 PM
That kimber looks interesting. I think the pricepoint will determine if it's a hit or not.

>$750 = instant flop
>$400 but <$700, may compete with Kahr and Baby Glocks if the weight / reliability are there.
<$400 Probably will sell well.

I saw the Kimber Solo Carry at the gun show today, I was impressed. Very smooth all over, like a custom melt job. Ambi safety and mag release. Safety doesn't stick out very far, very unobtrusive. Very smooth trigger. The dealer said Kimber wouldn't allow him to sell it yet, but was taking orders. Price was about $630 I believe.

I hear someone will intorduce the new 257.505 WSSSM.

January 17, 2011, 06:09 PM
Any dimensional specs on that Kimber?

Any way to sneak a picture for those of us who don't facebook?

January 17, 2011, 07:05 PM
Anything new from Glock this year?

January 17, 2011, 07:07 PM
Let me know if these work or not:

January 17, 2011, 07:31 PM
S&W is unveiling an "Enhanced" 1911 series. I am specifically interested if they are for duty use or are meant to be "range queens".

Kel-tec is also unveiling its .22mag carbine I think... quadrail forend, colapsable stock and .32 round mags!! Sounds fun to me!!

I found a picture of the new polymer HiPoint.

Yeah, that's a hoot. Why don't you stop by booth 16146 and share that with them because I bet that they will get a kick out of it too.

January 17, 2011, 10:12 PM
I think they WOULD find it funny.

January 18, 2011, 03:55 AM
I agree, Tom. I'd like a .22 Mag carbine more than a short-barreled .22 Mag handgun.

January 18, 2011, 04:37 AM
Before anyone gets excited about a kel tec .22 mag. carbine, bear in mind the PMR 30's that have hit the street so far tend to be jam a matics that occasionally kaboom. Read all the reviews on the ktog forum. I would love to have one if the problems are ever solved.

January 18, 2011, 09:06 AM
I like that Kimber Solo, but how does it compare size and weight to a Glock 26? Doesn't seem much smaller if any. I heard it was only slightly slimmer.

January 19, 2011, 04:54 PM
Local dealer has a Kimber Solo on the shelf and is taking orders at $649.
