I am in the process of getting one of these. Does anyone know where I can find out more about this rifle? Are parts really hard to get? This one was made in the 50s. Thanks, John

The Model 75 was made in two different versions. #1 was Target Rifle with the 28 in. barrel. #2 was the Sporting rifle with the 24 in. barrel.
Supposedly almost 89,000 of both versions were manufactured over a 20 year period between 1938 and 1958, except the war years when production shut down. The Sporting version is worth more money to collectors just like the Sporting version of the Model 52.

Lighter receiver and bolt than the top of the line Winchester 52, but except in side-by-side competition with it's older bigger brother, it shoots very impressive groups. Different safety and trigger too. One of the examples of 'Good' not being 'Best'.
I use mine for silhouette, due to it's lighter construction it is a decent offhand shooter.;) But as a benchrest shooter = Forget it, :( I tried = waste of expensive match ammo:banghead:

thanks for the information. I found parts at numrich so some are to be had. I was going to get a ruger 10/22 but I will look at this one first. John

Well, I was outbid and I don't want to go higher. It is a lot of fun looking. I heard some good things about CZs and of course there is always Ruger. John
