I tried to edit a "for sale" post I have in the "accessories" forum. I want to edit the first post to read "SOLD" I am not allowed, because the pop-up window says "No posts may be edited after it has been posted for 5760 minutes"

Very odd, and what purpose does this serve?

Thanks,
Russ

The time limit to edit is to prevent folks from coming back months or even years later and changing a thread that may have lots of posts based on what was said at the time. I agree that the time limit is restrictive in the for-sale forums, but, unfortunately we can't be selective on which forums have the limit and which ones don't. If anyone needs to edit a post after the time limit, a quick note to any moderator should suffice if a real-time post won't help.

I've taken the liberty of marking your for-sale thread as 'sold' and closed it to further inquiries.
