How will THR do SHOT 2014?

January 8, 2014, 10:36 AM
I'm trusting you THR members/mods that are going to SHOT won't let us down and will be posting pictures/info on new items again this year. (We're oh so eager and greedy :D )

Will there be a central place we can look for this info? I seem to recall two years ago it was a thread in this section and last year was a whole separate website.

I will post comments on things I find cool. I can't take pictures as I don't have a media badge, last year, a security guard asked if I was taking pictures when I was texting my wife. If you don't have a media badge they reserve the right to kick you out or take your gear.

There's usually enough people from THR with media badges that we get a good inside look throughout SHOT show. Last year people were updating at the end of each day what they saw.

I'm going for my own personal business, and don't have a media badge. I'm primarily interested in the rimfire market, so if I see something cool, and remember to post, I will.

Same here, though without the emphasis on rimfire. I'll try to share the most interesting.

Media badge needed for images? Darn! I have a buyer's badge.

Gary, in the past i've asked the people in the booth if I could photograph things for my blog with my phone or whatever, and they were cool with it. If you're walking around with a DSLR and a bag of lenses withouta media badge, you're going to attract attention.

4v50 ,,,that's the badge I would want,,along with a big pocket full of money .Along with a lot of buyers waiting me to come back with more money ,,,,,

I'm a non-buying buyer. I'm spending a lot of ducats on a new pumphouse.

I'm excited, I hope there will be some interesting new guns, not that I need to add to my list of next guns.

Can any FFL generally get tickets for SHOT? Or does it have to be a big one or luck of the draw?

I've got full media creds, but right now it's looking like a family emergency will keep me from attending SHOT. I'm not aware that any of us who have done this in the past will have the opportunity to attend this year.

I'm going to be busier than ever, EVER before this year. The company I work for is starting a new brand that's fully, 100% in the firearms industry (prior to this, we just supplied optical components to scope manufacturers). No media badge this year either, since Convexx isn't just handing those out the way Reed used to.

I will try to check in here nonetheless and describe a few interesting things.

I would also like to know if all you need is an FFL. It would also be nice to know how to get a media badge for it as well. I've seen some run of the mill social media accounts who get media badges every year so I don't know what the requirements are

A business FFL will do it. A C&R is not for business, so it is a no go.

Otherwise you need a business license or something proving you're in the gun industry.

My brother and I will be there. Look for Brethren Armament. We will be running around, no set table/booth. We have some appointments set with TTG, Bloggers and many others.

Since we are HK based builders, look for us around PTR and HK booth.
