Now that you've looked...

I just took home a 1911 Gustaf M96 that was Finnish use rifle. On the butt plate of the stock is marked the last three digits of the serial number, then below that "K R T" or "K B T" then beneath that "1058."

Any idea what these markings are?

The KRT and number are not Swedish, obviously, much too poorly stamped. I would suggest that they are Finn unit and rack number for the rifle.
Interesting that the "neutral" Swedes had thousands of "volunteers" fighting the Russians in Finland until political pressure got them called back home. And then they "forgot" their rifles and left 8000 or so behind in Finland! Who proceeded to make good use of them.:rolleyes:
