Just curious how many guys (and gals) are on here from new york that might be interested in having a get together somewhere, sometime. I see all the happy folks from around the nation getting together for some fun, just makes me wish there were more of us from NY on here.

at last! someone responded! I think some sort of meet up, maybe in the central region of the state would be mutually beneficial to the members upstate and downstate (as i'm an upstate guy). I hope some more folks respond.

A cross-the-border excursion may be just the ticket. I think I shoot more often in NY than in PA anyway. I'm just south of Binghamton.

Well, that's 6 so far, when we do set this up, feel free to bring your friends with you! The more the merrier. I do have my own, uh, personal range (read that as not an empty field out on the back 40 that's full of junk ;)) out here in the middle of nowhere. But that's a long ways for you downstate guys to travel.

FP1201 brought it to my attention that you needed a rallying point, I'd welcome any member of THR to our shoot next year! I've been on this board since early this year, but haven't posted for a while.

The 2nd Annual GUNS ALONG THE MOHAWK was bigger and better this year, and I expect it'll be better next year with your help!

I'm in the planning stages of a "Black Rifle Hunt" in the Adirondacks for this fall, if anyone would be interested.

Absolutely. But i'd like to get some sort of meet this summer as well. One can NEVER have too many meets.

I applaud your efforts, and if any of you have a rod and gun club in your area that will act as a host for a shoot?
That's how we got started, I asked the president of our club if we could host a shoot, and that's how GUNS ALONG THE MOHAWK got it's start.:D

From southern NY, will travel, especially up to mid/way upstate :D

Def. interested in a black rifle hunt or anything this summer.

I'm free most weekends, I have a place to crash up about an hour west of albany so if this could be a weekend thing I can do it.

Well, i think we have substantial interest for a shoot. Does anyone have a large backyard or a local range somewhere in the central part of the state that can help us out?

Ok folks, we've got people from the albany area, some down statish folks, the central region folks, and me out here in gods country. Anyone have a good range out there way? I've got land out this way, but it's a 4 hour drive from albany. A bit too far for some people. Anyone belong to a local range that is empty on certain days or is wiling to rent out for an afternoon? Throw some ideas out there folks :) I've got an itchy trigger finger and have some ammo to burn up. Always more fun with company.

Ilion eh? I was up there a few weeks ago at the remington factory on business. Interesting place. Well, since i started the thread and I seem to be sort of defacto in charge of this venture. I know for a fact I have land out here that we can all use. I'm not sure everyone would be keen on driving out this way though, would they? Otherwise, i'll hunt down a range somewhere in the eastern finger lakes region that would host us. :) Any input?

Let's not wait till there's 2 feet of snow here in the great north east.....:D

August 3, 2004, 02:52 PM
Yes, two feet of snow. Don't remind us. Lets hope for another indian summer. Short sleeve shirts in january? It's happened before :D

Seriously, i've got land out here in Steuben county if anyone is up for a nice long drive. Otherwise i'll find us a place more centrally located.

Well folks, sorry for the delay in response here, but i've been very busy working on a congressional race lately in the NY 24 for those who follow such things. I'm working for the guy who is trying to oust Boehlert. Fun stuff. Anywho, i've been having trouble finding some clubs around the area. If anyone can help us out in finding a place to host such a shoot, well, it'd be great. September is on her way gentlemen...

You're working for Dr. Walwrath?I spoke with him at the Remington Step Outside event.

Voted for him the last time and will do so this time too!
Is that why you were in Ilion?

I'll host you and all the East Coast THR people next spring/summer at our 3rd annual GUNS ALONG THE MOHAWK. (We had guys from as far as Florida this year!)

I wish I could find the time to put together 2 shoots a year, but between work/school it's next to impossible.

Ask FP1201, we were going to have a black rifle hunt last year, and it never got off the ground.

Everyone is welcome to join us at the Syracuse Gunshow Saturday Sept 18th!

FP1201 has a table there and all our GATM friends from the FALfiles/ARFCOM are having a get together.

Yep adirondack, I was workin' for the good Doc. That's why I was in Illion indeed. Unfortunate that he lost this time. It was damn tight last cycle, we just kinda got our posterior sides handed to us on a platter this time... I guess it was the millions of dollars he spent on negative mailers? Ah well. Lets hope november treats us better... But yeah, if you're willing to host us next summer, I guess that's gonna have to be the best thing. I"m back to school now (gonna get that bachelors degree soon!) and I dont' have the time to put a shoot together now. Sorry guys :( Unless someone can step up and find us a spot to shoot.
