Butch, it's one of the many little "finishing touches" that we've lined up to do as soon as we have time. We had to rush like mad to get this site ready in a very short period of time prior to our official "opening" on Christmas Eve. There are a number of things like this that are planned, or have been suggested, and we'll get to them over the next month or two. At the moment we're fielding operational problems like the difficulty in posting picture attachments, etc. Once they're out of the way, we'll move on to the next item on the list.

Good rules. I have taught them to my six year old son before he started shooting.

Zundfolge, thanks for posting the image; it just became my Laptop's background picture: one can never be reminded of these rules too often.

Now if Oleg would only take the picture with a proper handgun, like a USP or 1911. <ducks and dons firesuit> :D

I would modify that # 4 to say :

"Keep your finger outside the trigger guard until you are on target and have decided to fire".

If you have not decided to fire and do not yet want to fire, even if you are on target the finger should not be on the trigger.

My $.02...

If you've not decided to fire, you're probably violating Rule #3.

It does make a good desktop background. Think I'll leave there for a while.

I'd make a screensaver slideshow with Oleg's work but then I'd spend all my time watching the screensaver. :)

...on rule #1. I know a lot of shooters say instead "All guns are always loaded!". The only reason I can't bring myself to say that is because it simply is not a true statement. Now, don't get me wrong, I understand why they say that; they want the rule to be more...insistent...if you will. More definite. But I know for an absolute fact that as I type this message, my guns are not loaded . However, that still will not stop me from checking them when I next pick them up, as I always do, even if I put them down and walk away for only five minutes. You just never know...

Here is a funny side-note: in the computer game Deus Ex you can find a note on somebody's desk that has the SEVEN rules of firearms safety. :D
