I'm looking for metal swinging targets for .22 plinking. Anyone know what brands I should be looking into? Or are the all the same? Also, what online places have them? I tried Brownells and Cabelas but I didn't find them. Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong category...

Any local gun shop, if don't have can order. Hoppe's and Outers are just 2 brand names tha t come to mind. Various styles and configurations...I prefer the ones that have a base...hard ground is no fun when trying to 'stake' one...

Yes, hard ground is something I definitely don't want to deal with.

I was checking out MidwayUSA and found some, but they were the stake kind. I'm definitely going towards the base route.

You don't have to drive this one into the ground:

I have the Birchwood Casey resetting target pictured above. Works fine for the .22. It is bulky if you are hauling it around a lot, but a wrench and a couple of minutes will take care of that. I bought mine at Gart Brother. I know Cabellas and Galyons sell the same thing or a variation.

The nice thing about the spinning silouhettes is that they store and travel in very little space with no assebbly time.

I haul along a can of yellow spray paint to keep the target visable.
