Okay assuming that the AWB sunsets in just a few days one of the items on my get list is a AK underfolder. The question is where to get one? Does anyone have any suggestions?

You can go with an underfolder. I personally like the Galil ish side foldier. I hear there is a conversion kit for tossing an AR15 style telescoping stock on an AK.

Check out http://www.k-var.com for plenty of different styles.

Actually WA I you should have my money and FFL for the M4 in the group buy. You do have it don't you??

Actually on my list of folding stock weapons to purchase is a M4 (taken care of via Wildalaska, I hope, gulp), a AK (either under folder or side folder), and a FAL Para. Then I don't know. So I am trying to line up number 2 (the AK).

I just reread WA's post and reliazed what he was saying...never mind

I believe that Vector Arms http://www.vectorarms.com/indexframe.html is still selling their Polish underfolder guns built from the PMKMS (sp) kits. As far as i know they are the only people selling assembled underfolders at this time (I'm saving my pennies too).

I have a friend with an AK pre-ban underfolder NIB! PM me for details.

Hopefully, I'll have some pics soon of my Sunset Celebration Rifle. I'm turning my SAR-1 into DiFi's worst nightmare.

So far, it has the following:
RSA notched safety lever (the type you can work without taking your hand off the grip)
AR pistol grip
Ultimak scout scope rail
TDi Tri-Rail foreend
BMAS folding vetical grip
First Samco (Fobus) flashlight adapter
Surefire G2 Nitrolon

Tuesday, it will be wearing a CAR stock with the adapter.

It was wearing a cheap, Chinese reflex sight for about 10 hours, until I took it to the range. Soon, it will have either an Aimpoint, a EOTech or a C-more.

When it comes in from Lightfighter, I'll be putting on a GG&G rail-mount sling thing and a Specter tactical sling.

You know, I used to think I wanted one until I talked to a friend who served as a Soviet Tank Commander. He stated that the underfolders loosened up quickly with usage. He said the side folders were better but given a choice anyone of his guys would have chosen a wood stock.

Something to consider maybe. Might be worth your while to shoot someone else's, post 14th, to see if it's what you're hoping for especially with the added work needed to install one.

Leroy whats-his-name wrote a recent article in SWAT about his views on the AK-47 (both military and civilian versions), and IIRC he said that the underfolder was uncomfortable to shoot (probably due to that little skinny metal piece that serves as a buttplate).

Also, whatever mods you make to an imported rifle like a SAR, make sure you don't bust the 10-parts rule (the 18 USC 922(r) regs, which aren't sunsetting), or you could be paying a visit to the "big house." I think SAR's already use imported stocks except for the U.S.-made pistol grip, but be aware of your parts count whatever you do.
