the Federal AWB will sunset soon, what could we do with the state AWB?

It is really great that the federal AWB will sunset on Monday, but for us who live in some iron curtain states (for me it is connecticut), I find we still have our state AWB, it lists lots of firearm types as banned AW, among them there are AK, FAL, G3, ...,! So federal AWB has really very small effect on our state (except we could add these cool features!)

Isn't there a way to sunset these state AWB? even so, I don't think I have the patience to wait, I plan to get a new job position move to a free state in the near future!

The situation we are facing is: We must protect the current free states, and get these lost state back! How to achieve the second one is really a question!

A repeal could be voted on when pigs fly and hell freezes over (in regards to CA).

The federal AWB only susnset because that was written into the bill. Unless your state version has something like that written in (doubtful) it is there to stay, unless you some how manage to get it repealed.

Here in MA, we have a so-called "AWB" but the language references directly the federal Law, so once that sunsets, our AWB means not much at all.

The only hope for state repeals is a favorable Supreme Court decision.

Find a gun-friendly legislator to start introducing bills calling for the repeal of the state level AWBs every session.

As soon as election is over I plan to get to work on our legislators to relax carry restrictions in North Dakota. Wish they were in session now so the Russinan disaster could be warded off here.

jamz-- You'd better study up on the MA law, or you may find yourself in a lot of trouble.

The MA law is not going away. It does directly reference the Fed law, but it will still be in effect on Sept 14th, regardless of what happens to the Fed law. If you take a Post ban gun and make it Pre ban config in MA, you will be breaking MA law. You also cannot buy any new manufacture hi-caps. All hi-caps and AW's must "have been legally owned" before the ban went into effect.
