Took a look at the page Nero ---- looks very promising ... I too would like to know if anyone has tried these.

I'd just like to know where you can buy the stuff. Last I checked you couldn't buy it online and none of the Taurus dealers in the area will carry it. Haven't even see it at gunshows (and I always seen new stuff at shows).

Hello. I'm not sure that it's being produced anymore. I THINK it's been sold through Corbon under the DPX logo.

I have fired some of the Taurus .45 ACP ammunition through two pistols, a Colt Commander and a SIG-Sauer P220. Average listed velocities are based on 10 shots each.

Colt Commander:
Average Velocity (ft/sec): 938
Extreme Spread (ft/sec): 28
Std. Deviation (ft/sec): 12

SIG-Sauer P220:
Average Velocity: 926
Extreme Spread: 19
Std. Deviation: 7

Felt recoil was mild for caliber and feeding was no problem...but I'd want to shoot more before carrying for "serious purposes."

I believe this is the ammunition under discussion. It also grouped quite well from the two guns I fired it from.

I cannot for the life of me find the picture, but the bullet expanded nicely when fired into water.

Best.

If you want to know how it will perform relative to other ammo, go to www.tacticalforums,com and do a search under the terminal effects forum. No conjecture or hype. Happy trails. :D

I bought a box a few months ago from Cheaper Than Dirt. I think they still carry it.

Shot about half of it as a test -- functioned fine in my PT-145. Didn't do any real testing on expansion or velocity. Wouldn't hesitate to carry it for defense, but only if I couldn't get premium 230-gr HPs.

I also got some at Cheeper Than Dirt but that was several months ago.

The guy who runs AmmoLab recommended this load for the short barreled 1911s. He was not impressed with the Corbon version as they raised the velocity (+P) which he felt would reduce penetration. The Taurus loading was standard pressure. It has functioned perfectly in my wife's Kimber Ultra Carry. I hope the Taurus version is still available.

I haven't shot any but got to examine some. The copper HP is deeper and wider than a normal HP's hollow. It looked like a copper shot glass!

Looks to me like they still have it.

I bought some to compare for a defensive load. Out of 4 other kinds, the Taurus was the most accurate out of my PT-145 Millenium PRO. I compared it to WWB Value pack, Winchester Silvertip, Hydra-Shok, Pro-Load +P. The company literature gives an impressive picture of expansion. I too bought mine from Cheaper Than Dirt. http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?s=&postid=1023522
