So I walked into Martin B. Retting's at 5:59p.m. yesterday for some Surefire accessories. And 20 minutes later I walked out $395+8.25% poorer, an HK05 scope mount with 30mm rings weighing down my pocket. Which brings up a question: what do I mount on my HK SL7? My requirements are as follows:
(1) low medium power, fixed or variable;
(2) a mildot reticle;
(3) a steel tube;
(4) no slave labor.
The only scope I know to satisfy these seemingly easy requirements is the $2,500 U.S. Optics MST-100 U.S.M.C. M40 replica. What else is out there? Can I prevail upon U.S.O. to make me an SN-4 with a steel tube?

I'm not sure which scope will work for your needs. I like Leupolds and they have all those new VXIIIs with 30mm tubes. I don't know which companies make scopes with steel tubes. Check SWFA on the internet.

But that's what you get for going into Martin B's. I used to frequent that shop a lot when I lived in So Cal. One of the better stores still around. Now I have so much money saved, because I don't go there anymore.

Any particular reason you need a steel tube?

Any particular reason you need a steel tube? If the dings on this rifle's stock provide an accurate indication of its career prospects, an alloy tube just won't hack it.
