The local Fox station in DFW had a story on the AWB sunset; but unlike the ABC story discussed on a different thread here, it was actually positive.
I love it when a story starts out referring to the law as the "so called assault weapon ban." They showed a pre and post ban AR and pointed out that the only differences were cosmetic. The police officer they were interviewing (from DeSoto if I remember correctly) pointed out the only difference was the flash suppressor and bayonet lug. Stated that the functional aspects were the same and that all the statistics he had seen showed that no, or very few, weapons of this sort were actually used in the commission of crimes.
It basically showed the law for what it was, feel good legislation that is basically inneffective. At least that is the way it appeared to me. Shaun Rabb was the reporter and their website is www.fox4news.com , unfortunately they don't have a link to the story. I'll keep my eyes peeled and if I see it posted I'll forward it. I will probably send him a thank you note for the nice story as well.
