I have been toying w/ the idea of getting a P22, probably a 5". I already have a Ruger Mk II target model, I just wanted a 22 to round out my poly gun collection.
What is the general opinion re: reliability, durability, accuracy, fit, finish & fun?

I have a P22 5inch.

Fit and finish is good.

Grip is small. One mag comes with a finger extention but with or without it I don't have a problem (I've got fairly large hands). Given the gentle recoil, the small grip isn't an issue for most.

Like most 22's, they can be a picky about ammo. Try a few kinds and see what works. I've had the best luck with Remington bulk packs at Wally World. Those are near perfect for mine YMMV.

Accuracy is good.

DA trigger in a word, sucks.

SA is quite nice.

The saftey blocks the hammer so you can dry fire without worry.

All in all a very nice gun. It keeps its big brother the P99 company when in the safe :D

I'm thinking it would fit in quite nicely w/ my USPs, my Glock 36...basically my poly-gun collection.

I have an "L" serial number with the 3 inch barrel and updated magazines. It's very accurate and, while I'm still breaking it in, the only malfunctions I've had are three FTF's with Stingers. I think my P22 prefers truncated bullets like Yellow Jackets or Mini-Mags. The trigger could be better but, other than that, I'm really happy with it. It really is a joy to shoot.

Between a P22 & if /when HK starts producing handguns in the US, I'd love an HK 22lr polymer target pistol! My poly collection would be complete.

I have one of the Ltd edition ones with both barrels for myself.

Also have several 3.5 & 5" models in stock in my shop.

It's the last word in that sentence that gets my attention. The P22 is more fun than any .22lr handgun has a right to be. As mentioned before, use Remington Bulk ammo and you'll be a happy camper. I haven't touched my S&W 22A since I picked up the P22.

Fairly or unfairly I'm trying to compare it to a Ruger MK II Comp Target w/ way to many mags and has shot so many flawless rounds it's not funny.
I went to check one out today...them grips are petite aren't they? And for "adjustable sights" they mean windage only, huh?
