Drove by the gun shop and hoodlums and felons are already lining up to buy awful ASSAULT WEAPONS.

I have changed my locks and bought 6 Rottweilers for the onslaught.

Aren't you scared?

Why not?

Crooks will now be able to get PISTOL GRIPS which make guns far far far far far more DEADLY.

shudder.

Armed with foresight and a building permit, I constructed an anti-automatic weapons fallout shelter several years ago. I'll be able to live through the weeks of full auto bloodshed and return to the surface to the rebuild the ruins of civilization.

Let's see...

400+ rounds, loaded in AR/AK mags, ready to go...CHECK

2000+ additional rounds of .223 and 7.62x39, packed in ammo cans...CHECK

Several additional backup bolt-actions and semiautos...CHECK

Once that AWB expires, I'll be ready to commit mass-murder and slaughter sleeping babies, as well as perpetrate random acts of terrorism and violence...

After all, there is no need for anyone to own an "assault weapon"...:what:

I dunno 'bout the rest of y'all, but I'm feeling safe in CA. No cop-killer assault weapons will be flooding the street here.

On the other hand, criminals will go to different states to buy assault weapons and bring them back to California. (Yes, Police Chief of L.A.William J. Bratton actually said this. Errrgh!)

Someone should ask him if that is the case, why does California bother having their own ban on AWs.

I think like a criminal.

I think like a criminal way, way too much for my own good, but so far self control has won.

If I were a criminal, I would buy myself large amounts of high capacity rifle magazines- I'm talking drums and betas. I'd stock up on standard and even absurd (20-30) cap pistol magazines, and I'd buy myself a folding stock rifle to go with the hicaps.

Edit: replace buy with steal.

The fact is- criminals will commit crimes with unbanned items. They'll be easier to get, and they'd be really stupid not to. Not the average muggers, but the ones that are smart and equip themselves reasonably well. Not a crime wave, but it might be noticable.

If FA weapons were unrestricted, you think people wouldn't prefer them over a semi auto pistol if they thought they were going to be engaging the police?

Mee too, muzzleflash. Only, the scenario I thought up was 'shooting spree' on the 13th with an AK. I think that would help the media with the pro-AWB cause. After all, if I'm a criminal, do I want citizens being able to buy AK's and UZI's

Every one makes fun of California but there will be no blood flowing in our streets.

We have sensible gun laws. Thanks to our wonderfull politicians like Diane Finestein and Barbara Boxer criminals will not be able to buy those evil assualt weaopns and high capacity magazines.

So while the rest of you are hiding in your basements we will be strolling our streets and enjoying the sunshine in utter safety.

I heard a guy on Fox news today say that the first rule of terrorism is to get an assault weapon, so now they will come here to get arms. Then he went on with all the other anti gun talking points. 68% of the people, 76% of police chiefs and 34% of NRA members favor AWB....yada, yada, yada.

And the commentator didn't ask why they would come here and spend the money on a semi auto "assault weapon" when they can buy a full auto ak on the streets of baghdad for about $20.00 with ammo thrown in.

Will they tell the truth? They will report evey shooting, in every town, for any reason, will be the result of the AWB ending.

News Alert! "This just in.......a man was shot with a .38 special revolver (shows picture of Desert Eagle) late last night while trying to break into a residence."

"This just 2 days after the AWB expired." " Obviously this would not have happened if the man had tried to break into the house on Sunday"

I already attached a few bucktail skirts to some .223, 7.62x39, and 9mm to use with my casting rod. I think I will build some structure, too, so that the big 'uns have a place to hole up in!

Still waiting to hear about these same weapons being "in use" already today...

I mean - its not like you can't buy most of em already - I'm sure the criminal ain't worried about a bayonett... but its conceivable that if he stole a ak from someone elses house that he could buy a 30rd mag for it right now....

oh wait.... thats right they were banned... we can't get those things (/sarcasm off)

Me, I'm just going to wait patiently at the foot of my driveway, near the mailbox.

When the evil, evil assault weapons flood the street, I'll snag a few in a net, clean them up, and take them home.

Of course, if they're too little, I throw them back.

And as for the gun bigots, Rex Rider pretty much has it right.

If the ban expires and is not IMMEDIATELY followed by another, it will make it far harder for our anti-liberty traitors in OUR legislature to convince the girly-men to support NEW repressive laws.

And as a side benefit, just the apoplexy that hits Dianne may raise her blood pressure enough to drive her to the streets for a shooting spree.

She is my (ugh) senator. I have my neighbors to thank for her.

I don't know how the rotten ***t gets re-elected.

Watch for pandemic levels of "spray-firing" from the hip as terrorists, inner city gang members (i.e., gasp! negros) and "psychotic gun nuts" load up on these "rapid-fire" semi-automatic "assault weapons" with their "enhancements" that increase their "high powered" lethality.

It's truly sickening, nobody needs these weapons that are "designed only to kill people", these AK-47's, uzis, tech 9's, and Smith & Wesson .50 caliber assault revolvers (actual phraseology from a Chicago City Alderman) to hunt with.

The assault weapons ban has decreased the use of these assault weapons: "the same type of weapons used to kill children" (actual phrase used by CA Atty. Gen. Lockyer) in street crimes by 40.6532% over the past 10 years and renewal of this "common sense" piece of gun safety legislation is supported by 68.23416% of the American people according to a Phew research poll.

I was surprised to see ABC news do a decent story on the AW ban last night. They started by stating that according to statistics, AWs accounted for <2% of firearm crimes prior to the ban and that there are no statistics that indicate the ban had any effect on crime.

They then showed a pre-ban AR-15 (M4 style) and post-ban AR-15 (M4 style) side-by-side to show that the ban merely prohibited cosmetic features and the rifles themselves where identical.

They cut to Feinstein and Co. and the best comment they could come up with justifying the ban was that most "top" law enforcement organizations in the country supported extending the ban.
