Funny moment at Taco Bell

I was standing at the counter of my local Taco Bell yesterday to get my Bean Burrito (less than a buck and only 4 points on the weight watcher's system), when the nice young girl behind the counter looked down at my NRA shirt and said, "It's people like you who are going to put machine guns on the streets."
Well I had been having a good day with the wife, had lunch at our favorite Italian resturant (not 4 points on the weight watchers system), had seen a good movie, and was wearing a pair of really comfy shoes. So I was in a pretty peppy mood. So I just looked her in the eye and said, "It's people like you who are going to put onions on my burrito, now get to it."
Now myself personally, I'm not going to run out and buy anything monday. That kinda thing just isn't my bag, unless someone starts making an 11 shot revolver. But I'm glad the silly thing is dying a whimpering little death, and I'm ready to move on to the next target. I can't help but wonder how all these people are going to feel when assault rifle chaos doesn't break out. I'm sure they'll find some way to spin it to their advantage.

Hilarious. But I hope you made sure your bean burrito didn't have a little "extra" in it.

A more constructive thing would have been to explain what the AWB covers, but I know it's tiring explaining it to the uninformed sometimes. ;)

Which Taco Bell? I'll have to make a point to swing by there this week :D

I'm sure the manager or their corporate office would want to know if the cash chick is offending their customers. The last thing I'd want as a manager or owner is my employees to start talking politics or anything else that could cause someone to not eat there.

Pretty funny stuff, but I don't think I would have eaten that burrito...

I think a good response would be:
"It's people like you who will give away all of our freedom and rights just so you can think you're more secure"

OR

"It's people like you that make me need to carry a gun"

Good debate preparation for others.

"It's NOT about machine guns. And people who don't realize that really show their lack of knowledge on the subject. Would you like me to give you the facts on this issue?"

Yup, that's a classic line. Of course, the burrito would be going straight in the trash, but definitely worth a buck to see the look on her face, I bet.

Problem is, their answer would be an open flopping mouth and a blank stare.
Translated it would mean; Dude..........don't confuse me with the facts...duh.

Well, I watched them make the burrito, and she's just the cashier, probably ain't smart enough to fold a burrito. I refuse to debate with these people, I'm not going to change her mind at this point in the game. Jeez, I thought I was a liberal Dem until I was 19 years old. And as far as my diet, I was wrong, a bean buritto is 6 points, I'm allowed 28-32, so one for dinner doesn't hurt, and is usually the norm unless I'm playing Jerod and eating a Subway veggie. For lunch it was a wonderful linguini with extra virgin olive oil and a side of grilled veggies. Once every 2 weeks I allow myself such gluttony. For breakfast I had a 2 mile walk followed by 45 minutes with the free weights. What'd you have?:neener:

WELL SAID!!!

Now call that person's manager and tell them that you don't appreciate being verbally attacked by their counter staff. She was rude, and unprofessional. Unless it is the company's open policy to berate customers who demonstrate their political views on a t-shirt, then that employee was WAY out of line. As long as she wears her employers uniform then she is a representative of that company. Therefore the employee needs to keep her mouth shut and treat the customer with some respect.

I'm serious, call and complain to management.

...And you'd think she would have thought better about angering a man who is clearly in support of BIG SCARY GUNS! :what:

Good thing you watched!

Hint...never ever piss anyone off at the drive through.

One burger for a COP coming up! :D

At least she has a job, so many with verbal opinions don't.

Our local papers are full of Ant-Gun BS with the AW Ban ending Monday. Just so many stupid people just like the fast food queen who just have no idea.

Haven't machineguns been outlawed since 1934?

STV... Am I suppose to get scared and vote for Kerry?

Heavily regulated, yes. The sunset coming tomorrow (midnight tonight!) will not affect machine gun owners one whit.

Call the corporate office. Did that once to McDonald's about something, and they sent me a book of gift certificates.

It ain't worth getting her in trouble for

I have to go with Okie on this one. Support the Second Ammendment and the First.

Nobody was rude. Nobody threw fists. And you defended yourself handsomely, *yourself*. You don't need someone else to handle it for you, it's already been handled.

All these posts for "calling the manager"...I don't know. She was just a kid with an opinion, however misguided. I say, take the high road. So to speak.

Okie, I'm glad you asked me what I had.

I'm on crutches from knee surgery 4 weeks ago (and will be OFF crutches in 2 weeks), but I still went to church this morning, ate a tiny plate of maybe 2 oz. scrambled eggs, one piece of bacon and maybe 3 oz. of potatoes. (I can book around on those crutches like nobody's business, due to my extremely high upper body strength. Stairs are not a problem.)

Lunch was 3 oz. of buffalo steak, along with a salad of one small cut-up bell pepper and many small cherry tomatoes drenched in flax seed oil and some really good salad dressing.

After an early dinner similar to lunch but maybe with a tiny bit of starch, I'll be playing kayak polo (a VERY violent, vigorous game) for 2 to 2 1/2 hours (think basketball/football in boats, with full contact!), then top it off with a sports recovery drink containing 120 calories, including protein (Recoverite, by E-caps. I'm also very fond of Endurox R4.)

I suppose I should mention that I was in the Olympic Trials for whitewater slalom in April, will be in the National Championships for kayak polo in late October, and will be Crew Chief for the Urban Challenge Nationals in November.

Did I mention I'm a 46-year-old lady? (And yes--I'm married. I do have a sister, and she's married, too.)

OH--and my diet is the Zone. Works great for athletes (40% carb, 30% protein, 30% fat). After three knee surgeries in 4.5 years, the doc said to lose 45-50 pounds (INCLUDING muscle) to avoid the certainty of future surgeries and a knee replacement. Already lost 12, working on the rest.

Yeah, I'm a female stud. Been an athlete for going on 28 years. :)

I used to work rehab, and those knee surgeries are the worst. Used to have one surgeon who thought it was a good idea to do bilat knee surgeries on little old ladies then turn them over to us for rehab. :fire:
One reason I'm trying to lose weight (other than the chest pain scare thing) is so I can get back in my kayak. Never tried polo, but it makes for some dandy fishing.

Done good. Verbal abrasiveness placated with smooth wit. :)

BTW, this wasn't at the Taco Bell on NW 23rd and May, was it...?

I would venture to say that, however misinformed this person was, she was probably better misinformed than the average Taco Bell employee. She was almost like an activist, or something.

Perhaps I'm being too harsh. I apologize for offending Taco Bell employees by suggesting that they're not informed. Why the heck did I respond to this thread?

:D Sweet! Made my day reading that. Don't know about the 'politically correctness' of the statement (nor what might have went into the burrito) but thanks for posting and "God Bless you Sir."

OkieCruffler, that's funny.
You handled the whole thing just right. Most of the fast food queenies need all the slack anyone can cut. Most of them are too dumb to brush either tooth. And they gotta eat too. But I don't think I would have eaten the taco.;)

Okay, for you okies who wanted to know, It's the Taco Bell in Del City on Sooner and 23rd. You'll have to guess which employee. I have nothing against the young lady, I see to many her age who are expecting their third kid and kicked back on my dime. I always say, if you gots the j.o.b. you are allowed your very own opinion. However, I am allowed to make fun of you for it. It's only fair.
