trying to put in new cyl hand{lever&spring is what H&R call it} and can not get it adjusted right.
the spring goes into hole in trigger,is bent and then spring is cut to length,to fit pin on lifter bar. so say instructions. wish it was that easy.
can not get hand to trun cyl after I do this,have tryed shorting hand to engage cyl. but no luck.
all suggestions welcomed

If you shortened the hand, you will probably need a new one. That hand and spring are tricky. The spring has to be bent forward just so to push the hand forward at the top. With the trigger out of the gun, play with the spring you have until you can pull the hand back and have it snap forward. Then if you need to, buy another hand and do likewise.

I got so fed up with those hand springs that I redesigned the system. I thinned the hand at the inside bottom so I could fit a small mousetrap spring with a hook behind the hand. Worked fine, and I never had a comeback.
