I recently purchased a S&W 625. It has a 5" bbl and 'model of 1989' etched on the barrel. The pistol has a set of spurs engraved on each chamber of the cylinder and spurs and a saddle on the sideplate. It looks as if it came from the factory this way. Any idea if this is so?

You will need to call S&W and ask. Saddle and spurs are not options for laser engraving in the catalog. Could be factory custom, but, you will have to call.

Welome to the forun!!

The "Model of 1989" is stock:

The "spurs" would certainly be custom. Makes me thing of Gary Reeder's work www.reedercustomguns.com

Sounds like a nice one...

No mention of Texas. It does have a gold bead Partridge front sight. I'll be able to borrow a digital camera this wekend and will post some pics just for the heck of it.

That engraving is interesting but it doesnt look like S&W Factory work. :)
