At around 12:00 am, you might just see a postban A2 lower with RRA trigger magically transform into an evil noban rifle with bayonet lug and scary things!
Woo Hoo! :D
And to Sen. Feinstein... :neener:

I thought the AWB expired as of 12:01 am on the 14th...
September 12, 2004, 07:23 PM
It expires ten years after it was enacted, which was 9/13/04. So, as soon as it hits midnight tonight, it's history.
September 12, 2004, 07:27 PM
4 hours 32 minutes to go !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
September 12, 2004, 08:42 PM
Its gonna sound like a beatnik concert:D
September 12, 2004, 10:28 PM
1 hour and a half left! Who ever wants the throw that AWB sunset party can view the countdown HERE (http://www.mikecaswell.com/AWBcountdown.swf). I'm whippin out the beer and pizza as I write this. ;)
September 12, 2004, 10:45 PM
According to the legislation, it is repealed on the same day it was signed into being...meaning at midnight Washington DC, it ceases to exist.
September 12, 2004, 11:51 PM
I'm going shopping tomorrow, that's for sure. :D
Nine minutes and some seconds left.....
September 13, 2004, 12:00 AM
Ding, dong the witch is dead, the witch is dead, the wicked witch is dead.....
September 13, 2004, 12:01 AM
Wait, this sucks, I'm 4-hous behind here in Alaska. Any lawyers out there that can tell me about this? Does it expire at EST or whatever time zone you're in?
September 13, 2004, 12:02 AM
It expired two minutes ago..
September 13, 2004, 12:04 AM
Is the official "THEHIGHROAD.ORG" time one hour behind? Why are my posts showing up one hour earlier?
September 13, 2004, 12:07 AM
My clock reads 8:07 PM as well..

Semiautomatic Assault Weapon Update
By statute, the prohibitions relating to semiautomatic assault weapons and large capacity ammunition feeding devices expired on September 13, 2004. As a result, certain sections of the Gun Control Act, 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44, and its implementing regulations, 27 CFR Part 478, are no longer in effect.

To celebrate the ban I'm going to buy you a toenail brush!
September 13, 2004, 12:34 AM
What's that optic?
September 13, 2004, 12:38 AM
The optic is an ACOG.
I'm more interested handguards. I've never seen one set up quite like that, I don't think. But I'm also not a complete AR nut like some of our members.
PS Nice feet. Are they pre or post ban?
September 13, 2004, 12:51 AM
Left foot is post-ban, right foot is pre-ban... Didn't have any photo editing software handy to crop those out...
The handguards are Knight's Armament Free-Floating RAS. Very nice gear when I bought it (the picture is just my postban A2 lower with my pre-ban upper on it); but there is better stuff out there now.
September 13, 2004, 12:52 AM
Well mine has been in it's current form for hours before the ban ended, but I will still post. I just got her put together today, getting the position later this week.
Here's my latest, with more on the way! The AMD-65 was already together, I just took out the spacer and replaced with the spring so the stock would fold. The underfolder's been in pieces, ready to assemble, but with the FCG not installed. Only took me a few minutes to put it all together. YeeHaw!

Here's my SAR-1 in its' latest incarnation:
i can't figure out what sentiment I get from reading this thread... kinda like a cross between a New Year's eve countdown, fireworks going off on the 4th of July and Christmas coming afterwards.
September 13, 2004, 05:14 PM
I'm sticking with my digicam's original filename for this one...
September 13, 2004, 07:11 PM
here are before and after pics of the guns, still some work to do.
AR10 is likely to get a Magpul M93 stock like that on the Bushmaster 14.5inch shorty, the Bushmaster 14.5in is getting a new M4 barrel with perm attached Phantom.
20inch AR15 is gonna remain nearly the same, took off the old 20inch Hbar and put a Gov't. profile barrel on with Phantom.

September 13, 2004, 07:26 PM
I don't seem to own any "post-ban" firearm that I can convert into a No-Ban rifle. Mine already have all of the evil features they were originally designed with.
September 13, 2004, 09:37 PM
Bushmaster m4 clone, 14 1/2" barrel with Phantom flash hider, 1/7 twist and M4 feed ramps.
looks like its gonna be one heck of a celebration!!
nice setup btw.
September 14, 2004, 12:47 AM
Thanks Tony. I'm going to try and find time to celebrate this weekend, dependant on my work schedule. If you'd care to join me, drop me a line.
September 14, 2004, 01:01 AM
Been waiting to do this to my once-postban Mini14 ranch:
Now all I need is a birdcage flash supressor to replace the '74 muzzlebrake and I'm good to go, A-TEAM stylin!!!!!
September 14, 2004, 08:16 AM
I'd post pics, but everyone would make fun of me for having a MagPul telestock on a 20" A2-upper AR with no bayonet lug or flash hider (my LMT M4 upper hasnt arrived yet, my dealer buddy just ordered it Saturday). :o

Hell, who cares!
Rock it, Kharn.
September 14, 2004, 01:54 PM
If you don't, I will.
Actually the AR10 is the rifle that is likely to get the Magpul M93A but if I can't get a proper buffer to use with the AR10 soon then the Magpull will probably go on my 20inch Bushmaster.
such a solid kick butt stock.

I'm so sad that the rest of the country is celebrating the restoration of its rights, and I'm in **** trying to scrape together funds for a .50 lower so I can beat the deadline...
September 14, 2004, 09:14 PM
My new (to me) Colt AR-15A3 Tactical (sorry 'bout the crummy pics, I just picked this rifle up and had to share).
