I set my computer to start the 1812 Overture finale at 11:57. At 11:59, and 58 seconds, the good part begins. :)

The news media is adamant that the ban expires midnight Monday/Tuesday. CZ -USA won't do anything with LE mags until Tuseday, too, I agree it's tonight.

If it went into effect on the 13th then it expires tonight, I'm not sure of the exact date it started.
edit: Ok, according to awbansunset, the law went into effect on the 13th so yes, at midnight tonight is the expiration.

It expires tonight, at 12am Eastern. Unfortunately, I will be at work when the flood of chaos and mayhem starts. Hopefully, I will be able to dodge the Ice Cream Trucks Of Death and get to my car in the parking lot.

HAPPY FREAKING SUNSET DAY! :D
I would say I'm going to be tired tomorrow after staying up late, but I think it'll be a bit easier waking up to an America that's a little more free.

A good choice. I, however, went for "Fanfare for the Common Man." It seems to fit. :D

Now if only I could afford some new, no longer prohibited gun items.

Just got done dictating a very snippy email to my local news media (story book writers). They just told a last minute its-so-horrible children will be buying ak's and uzi's off the ice cream truck story. It inraged me enough to call the station during the broadcast. So I immediatly had my wife dictate me mildly controlled rant and explain why their short barreled selective fire AR was not effected by the ban. But what I really wanted to say was HORRAY HORRAY it's time to do the happy dance!:D

My SAR 2 just received a post AWB transplant of a functional Romanian side folder. In all honesty, I don't care for the stock, but it is on there BECAUSE I CAN!!!!

Us in the Pacific, Alaskan, and Hawiian time zones still have one hour, 38 minutes to go. Hmm...Here's one for the ATF. What happens if someone assembles an "assault weapon" legally after the sunset in say, FL, then drives back across into a time zone where its an hour before the sunset?

Semiautomatic Assault Weapon Update
By statute, the prohibitions relating to semiautomatic assault weapons and large capacity ammunition feeding devices expired on September 13, 2004. As a result, certain sections of the Gun Control Act, 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44, and its implementing regulations, 27 CFR Part 478, are no longer in effect.

They would have more to worry about from the speeding ticket I think (and getting their new italian sportscar impounded for going 150mph).
