Please suffer me these inquiries, as this subject has probably been covered a number of times before.

What are the best sources of information on building an H&K from the available components that are on the market? Does this info include the placement/seating of the barrel for headspace in the trunion?

Thanks to all for suffering me in this and for any info passed my way! :)

You should be able to find all of that information at that site. There is a fair amount of cutting and welding involved and some of it is critical.

Destructo6,

Been to the forum and there is quite a bit of info there. I was hoping that there might be someone that would know if there is anything for the H&K series like the Kuhnhausen shop manuals. Seems to me that you might almost need a jig to perform some of the welds with a degree of certain accuracy on the H&K.

Thanks all the same!

The cocking tube would be the worst part. You'd probably want a jig to ensure it went on straight, but the length appears to be controlled by a shoulder on the receiver end: butt the shoulder to the receiver and weld.

POF-USA has cocking tubes for $75 that appear to be useable.

I don't see anything relating to assembly dimensions in the G3 armorer's manual.

Arizona Response Systems has a sort of pictorial G3 guild under "gunsmithing", then "notes."

IGF, ARS, or AZEX would all be good choices if you don't want to do it yourself.
