Williams Sight for SKS?

I saw a thread on TFL about problems with a Williams peep rear sight for the SKS...the consensus seemed to be that the aperture was too far from the eye to be of any good. As a result, I have decided not to buy a peep sight for the SKS.

Which brings us to my question: Williams also makes the same sight, but with an open blade instead of the peep aperture. It looks like this:

Has anyone had experience with this open blade sight? It looks like it'll be better than the stock rear sight on the SKS. It appears to be more adjustable, too ("fully adjustable for elevation and windage", according to Williams).

Brownell's has it for $24.95. Should I get it? Anyone have experience with Williams equipment in general? Do they make good stuff?

Windage is a key concern so that the front sight can be centered in its circle. Elevation is adjustable, but you can't slide in 100, 200, 300 yards, etc. I have the peep sights myself. The problem with the buckhorn sight is that it obscures so much of the target. It might work in some cases for fast sight allignment but you won't be able to see what you are lining up on!

Let me interject that I haven't seen the previous threads but my peep sights work great. They are large enough that they seem to work really well in spite of being a distance from the rear sight. The better road to go as far as an adjustable rear is a Bulgarian adjustable rear sight. While they aren't screw-adjustable for elevation, you can make that adjustment for the front sight and have the gun zeroed. center the front sight in its housing, zero for windage and use the slide to adjust for range. The Bulgarian sight is an excellent alternative to the factory sights. I'd suggest them. These are available here: Global Trades (http://www.arsenalusa.com/newitems.html)

I tried one of the Williams peep sights for SKS for a while. In lower light conditions, it's too slow for getting a good sight picture and the front sight hood combined with the outline of the peep gives a pretty weird effect. I gave it a chance.....really. In the end I went back to the issue sights. Faster and easier to pick up.
