Okay who is now making these? From what I have heard D&D inc is out of business? They were the one's making these. :(

There is a reason nobody is using them anymore.

If you're going to make a cranky statement like that, at least have the courtesy to elaborate.

Thermolds do have their issues, the main one being the ribs make it difficult to get one out of a snug mag pouch. Other than that, I've been perfectly happy with them. (and the "TherMelt" problem was specific to a Canadian plastic recipe & FA fire, not the US made formulation)

For a good price, I'd be happy to have Thermolds again. Thermold 20s would be most welcome. They could probably enter the novelty market with clear & colored plastic mixes too. :-)

I tried them with my M1A but could not get them to lock in securely. If they fit and they work I think they can be great (low weight, corresion resistant) but if they don't they are less than a deal.

My AR mags were nice. There was an Olympic AR with an off-center mag well they wouldn't fit in, but that was an out of spec Olympic, not an average gun.

The only TLC I've had to provide was to shave the flash off the edge of the feed lip. Letting the bolt slam home a few times on an empty mag always fixed that right up for me.

My Thermold mags have functioned flawlessly in my Bushmaster XM15E2S.
I sure hope that someone continues making them.

I don't think any new ones are being produced, unless the molds are taken up by someone willing, but I'm not sure.

I like the two I have, they have been reliable so far, and they look better in the "black rifle" than the regular USGI

Got 9 of them for my Mini-14 I got in the early 1990's. They have always worked well for me. Not that I can get any more so long as I am a PRK resident, but when I leave the state, I would have liked to pick up some more.

My AR15/M16 Thermold mags work great. They feel sturdy, and look good.
Had a couple Thermold M1A/M14 mags. They didn't lock well.
