Whats the overall length of a 7.62X25 round and how does this compare to the 9X23 Largo? And to serve as a reference point what’s the OAL of a 9X19?

Also what are the available weights and velocities of 9mm Largo; and where could current ammunition be purchased?

Ok, now questions about the CZ-52: Now I know the CZ-52 doesn’t have a fixed barrel, at least not in the sense that its straight blow back. So what kind of delay mechanism does it use and more importantly how does it work. Would a large weight hanging off the end of the barrel have any adverse effects on the functioning of the gun?

Thanks, Daniel Vaughn

the CZ-52 has a short recoil, locked breech system, with dual rollers under the barrel.
I not sure if it is of any vakue to conver '52 to 9mm Largo, since its power is close to 9x19 Luger, and '52 is easily converted to 9x19 (it was originally designed for the 9mm)

If you plan to use 9x23 Winchester in CZ-52, do not do it; the urban legend is that CZ-52 is uber-strong, but in truth '52 is safe to use only with standard power ammo, either in 7.62 or in 9mm.
According to one Czech army officer, many of military-issue CZ-52s had cracks in the frames after about 5K rounds of military issue "hot" 7.62mm ammo.

A) The Star Super B has a magazine length made for 9x23mm Largo, but a 9x29 chamber and long magazine lips for the 9x19mm.

In one Star Super B I have:
1) reamed out the chamber to 9x23mm Win
2) trimmed the magazine lips to release the cartridge sooner
3) reamed out the spring coweling on the slide to make room for a bigger recoil spring.

B) The Tokarev pistol has a long magazine for the 7.62x25mm Tokarev round.
9mm barrels are available, and I have reamed a few out to 9x23mm Win.
My bullet of preference is 158 gr XTP JHP.
The recoil is on par with my full house 44 mag loads in my S&W 29.

I feel that the 9x23mm Win is a better use of the two pistols for me.
