Greetings! I believe that you are the owner/author of the attached internet site/link . . . . . . and my question is about the 1911 in the first picture as you scroll down. What manufacturer/model is that specimen and what modifications have been done to it??

I know that, in addition to my collection of CZ’s and my GP100 3 incher on the way, I plan to get a 1911 eventually. Although I like Colt’s XSE models and the Dan Wesson Pointman’s, I prefer a more subdued finish without forward slide serrations.

I ‘d appreciate any info you can provide about this particular model. :D

Thanks!

Looks like a 6" longslide to me. May be a Caspian frame and slide. Just my guess though.

Nope . . . . .

I just found it elsewhere on his site, as a matter of fact.

.......at the bottom.

I'm surprised! :what: What a beautifully elegant looking firearm. In fact - I believe Stephen just recently posted a review of a Norincio 1911. I'll hafta look it up.

Hello. The angle makes the 1911 in question appear to be a long slide, but it is in fact a Series 70 Colt. I bought it new in the '70's and had some changes made over the years. Lou Williamson of Williamson Precision Gunsmithing did the work. (Hurst, TX, 817 284 0065).

Here's the old Colt. The collet bushing's been replaced by a solid one in stainless that has been fitted to the barrel and slide. The original barrel works fine. S&W K-frame revolver sights were added to the gun and the front sight is silversoldered to the slide. 20LPI checking on the front grip strap and flat MS housing. An Ed Brown grip safety was fitted to the gun and the gun has a different hammer and sear. Internal parts and pins are hardchromed.

Here's a look at the other side although in this picture the pistol is wearing a set of Hakan Pek grips. The slide and frame have been black parkerized.

Best.

Hey Gary,
How about you posting some pics of your CZ85 Compact .40 S&W? What do you think of it? I"m looking forward to CZ going into full production. I want to get one real bad.
