dovetail-to-weaver scope mount adapter

Is there an adapter that you can mount on a dovetail 22 mount to give a wider platform, weaver or other, to then mount an optic upon?
I found the Rigel 5300, but it looks specific to the AR. Is it?

Any others that can be used on any 'regular ol' existing dovetail mount?
Thx-

I don't see where it mentions an AR at all. ARs don't have 3/8" tipoff grooves anyhow. Looks like it would do what you want. Have you asked Riegel?
BKL makes something of the sort, Brownells carries them.

I have this one. (http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=18690&title=3%2f8%22+DOVETAIL+TO+WEAVER+ADAPTER) You have to be careful getting them on, since they're pretty tight. Which is good, but I was trying them on a Henry receiver and consequently had to use the touch-up pen a little. Of course, I ended up not using them at all, but they would have been fine if I hadn't changed my mind.

An adapter might not be as stable as some other solution. It's still hooked into the narrow grooves, even if the top is weaver-style. Unless it's a collector gun, I'd look for a good one-piece weaver mount, then get it drilled and tapped. Is that a possibility?

Here's the problem I am trying to solve.
BTW: sorry for being cryptic initially, its just that Chief AJ would be mad at me!
I have a 10/22 with a BARREL-mounted (drilled and tapped) 3/8" base to which Chief AJ recommends tip-off or dovetail rings for mounting.
Knowing that tip-off or dovetail 'clamps' will fit, I want one that mounts to the mount so I am left with a more standard base.
I am trying to mount a red dot on the barrel. I suppose a holosight would be even better for a 'scout 10/22' in the barrel mounted position, but $$$$$$$$$.
I can't find a red dot that has a narrow enough base. I could use a LER pistol scope but I really like the wide eyes open heads up view for a scout type rifle.
So there ya go. I sure am happy to entertain other ideas for mouinting the red dot to the barrel.

We're using a Tasco RedDot (~$35 at Sports Authority) on the Henry and it mounts to the 3/8" base. Works fine, but then it only goes to the range, and not hoofing around the woods or anything. There are other red dots out there set up to mount directly to dovetail bases, just search around sites like Natchez, etc. and you should find them. Otherwise, I won't tell Chief AJ if you won't... :)

Heh heh.
I've never met Chief AJ personally, do you know him? We've emailed back and forth a few times. He just seems like a really nice guy.

No, don't know him, just funnin'. :)
It just occured to me to actually look for regular-size scope rings for 3/8" base (shazam!) and I found these (http://www.midwayusa.com/rewriteaproduct/801504). They also show 1" rings and both are there in matte blue and silver.

Hey, those 30mm-22/dovetail rings are getting somewhere!
I'm sure i can find a 30mm red dot.
Wonder if there are 42mm-22/dovetail rings??
I'll check.
Thanks!
