Another well-known manufacturer has introduced a polymer framed handgun - Browning. I just noticed this on the Browning website - it appears to be similar to the H&K USP in overall appearance and features, with a combination decocker/safety and external hammer. It is available in 9mm and .40 S&W. It also has the changeable grip inserts like the Walther P99. The suggested retail is about $630, so it will probably sell in the $500 range.

It is in the FN catalogue too. If it uses Hipower HI caps it might be worth looking at.

But that would make too much sense

Look's like a slightly smaller DA version of the FN Fourty-Nine.

A few short years ago, I hated all things polymer. Now, I have made a 180 degree flip and am enamoured by most things polymer. If the Browning makes it into the PRK, I'll give'em at least a look.

The double action pull on pro 9 is said to be 10 lbs. and the single action @ 3.5 lbs.
The forty nine is D/A only and has a trigger pull @115 lbs. + or -

115 lbs. What!? Granted it's a little heavy but I do believe that you're slightly exagerating.

I shot a gun with about a 25-30lb trigger pull (AMT .45 backup) but never one with a 115lb one! I don't think I could even pull the trigger on a gun like that.:D

The FN49s trigger wasn't much better than the S&W Sigma series...which was actually not 115lbs, but more like 205lbs!
