So, I'm looking at getting an aviator but I have a question about it.

If I buy the red led, is it possible to buy another head that has, say, the white led's or the blue ones?

How much would that cost?

Considering that you have the option when you buy it, I don't see why you couldn't change heads.

Send an email to Surefire and ask them.

The LED Ring can be removed from the A2's bezel. It is secured using three small screws.

I am not aware of SureFire offering the LED rings as accessories although I hope they will do.

I have the blue LED, but now I would have wanted the white LED version.
The red is great for night, but will not show all red lines on a map.
The blue also saves your nightvision, and will again not show blue lines, but it is possible to follow blood trails at night.

I've also got the one with the blue LED's. I've found that the range with the LED's aren't much. I also purchased Browning's Black Ice LED light with Red, Blue, White LEDs and a super bright white single bulb. It was 50 bucks, and I really wished I'd of bought the Browning first, and saved $125.00. For hunting its a better light. The Browning light red led's don't have a lot of range but both the blue and the white do. I'm not here to bad mouth Surefire, I own and use three of them, but Browning has something here.

This is why military maps and documents are RLR (red light readable)..... they use a lot of red lens lights.

Surefire won't sell the LED rings seperately :(

While the Surefire is a fine light, in my own opinion, the Streamlight TT 2L is a much better buy. I admit that I have not used the Surefire, but have several of the TTs.
