I need a load that gets about 900 to 1000 FPS
with a 155 LSWC in 40 S&W. Can it be done?
My loading manuals don't cover this.
Thanks

Yep it can be done. I've got data at home. Shoot me an PM this evening to remind me and I'll look it up for you.

I just sent you a PM with this data but here it is again for the search engine.
155grn lead and Win 231
Min. 5.0
Max. 6.0
Vel: 988--1143
This is from a cast bullet company data sheet they sent with their bullets. I have verified this load in my USP compact .40.
The low end did cycle the gun and was very tame. I settled on 5.5grns for a good target load.
Hope this helps,

I can't help you with 155gr, but for IPSC, I load 180's with Titegroup. but I also load long to 1.230"

UPDATE:
After much reading on various forums and doing some extrapolation / guessing.
I was able to convince myself that 4.1 grains of titegroup loaded under my
155 grain LSWC would give me between 900 and 1000 FPS at safe pressures.
I shot a ten round string over a Chrony and it averaged 955 FPS with 9 FPS
standard Deviation.
I shot a additional 50 rounds for accuracy and it held 1.5 inches at 25 yards from a bench rest.
The load was clean and very mild recoiling. The case showed no signs of pressure. I had no barrel leading worth noting.
So unless anyone can tell me why not I am putting this load into production.
I must say in the wide body STI I am shooting these things in this is a very soft fun shooting load.
Thanks for all the help both in this thread and in PM.
