Skunk proudly shows off his new rack.

September 27, 2004, 10:05 PM
"With his primary objective smoking behind him and enemy reinforcements closing in, Skunkabilly remembered to be polite when he requested assistance from his THR buddies"

September 27, 2004, 10:09 PM

ok ok, read the sign, but in a cadence as if each line was a separate sign...

September 27, 2004, 10:11 PM
"Skunkabilly begins to think seriously about getting a "real" rifle that only takes one round per target and dosen't get constipated at the mere sight of sand."

:neener: :neener: :neener:

"The difference between a man standing on the side of the road and a THR member standing on the side of the road is that the regular man asks for a ride, and the THR member asks for ammo."

September 27, 2004, 10:21 PM
Skunk's the posterchild for RKBA.

September 27, 2004, 10:35 PM

"Will work for ammo?"

You look a little more "solid" these days, Skunk. You been working out?
(Maybe it's all the tactical stuff)

September 27, 2004, 10:59 PM
Negative on the working out. I did gain 30 lbs by putting on all that gear though

September 27, 2004, 11:04 PM
Yeah, how long after taking this pic did you collapse from the weight?:D

September 27, 2004, 11:11 PM
Is that gun legal to own in Kalifornistan?

It looks more evil than my no-ban AR. :p

September 27, 2004, 11:22 PM
"Armed only with his trusty airsoft-AR, Skunkabilly single-handedly quells the attempted teenage uprising of the local mall."

September 28, 2004, 12:08 AM
I think your "Mall Security, $14.95/hr" idea would look real nice on that sign.

Upon seeing the hardship endured by THR's last, best hope for freedom, John Kerry remarked, "I actually voted for more ammo for Skunky before I voted against it."

Where are you and what are you carrying (rifle, gear, etc)?

P.S. I like the look of that AR...

Andrew Wyatt
September 28, 2004, 12:26 AM
After noticeing that the AR had the LMT MRP and had the laser and holosight, I just had to...

September 28, 2004, 01:42 AM caption.

But I'm thinking that since Skunky is wearing a black T-shirt and no hat, he's not REALLY in the desert.

Or maybe. Oh, does it get hot in California? 105*? I bet that's rough. :neener:

September 28, 2004, 01:50 AM
1. I untactically left the hat at home :banghead:
2. The t-shirt is gray. I grab what's on top :p

Not sure what the hardware is on the AR other than the Tangodown foregrip, Surefire, Eotech. And is that an VLTOR stock?

September 28, 2004, 02:12 AM
Another way I can tell the picture is staged: Skunky isn't drenched in sweat.

I've worn an armor vest for extended periods of time in the heat of the desert day.

After a few hours, you look like you've been rained on.

So yeah. Poser. :neener:

September 28, 2004, 03:10 AM
I've worn an armor vest for extended periods of time in the heat of the desert day.

I loved my armor vest when I had to go on unheated Blackhawk rides during the winter. That and it makes a good chin rest when trying to get some sleep.

My caption? "Skunky : Keeping the Cali Commie hordes in check!"

September 28, 2004, 03:14 AM

How sturdy are these AR-15 collapsing stocks? Never having handled one, I have to say that most of them look pretty flimsy.

If I were a different person and were into AR carbines, I'd probably go with this stock (

Happy belated Birthday, Skunky!

Apparently I can't edit the post above. Lame. Oh well.

September 28, 2004, 08:56 AM

where was an AR the last time I had to visit the UPS store...

Dave Markowitz
September 28, 2004, 09:58 AM
That's a Crane stock on the AR, if I'm not mistaken. Definitely not a VLTOR.

September 28, 2004, 10:18 AM
That and it makes a good chin rest when trying to get some sleep

AMen to that! That gents, is a true 'been there done that' story. Forget all these posers claiming to be returning Delta Force snipers from the sandbox--a man that knows how to use his gear to its unintended and full potential has walked tha walk :D

-who has also spent many hours propped up by his body armor (old flaks better for head-back sleeping, new Interceptors better for head foward sleeping) :p

September 28, 2004, 11:22 AM
Uberphlubb, that is awesome!!!

And another

September 28, 2004, 08:56 PM
Ready for the G3??

Heck yeah! When's the photo shoot?

September 28, 2004, 09:03 PM
How much you got in that tricked out AR with all that stuff bolted on there?
I LIKE it!

September 28, 2004, 09:23 PM
Skunk on a stick...

September 28, 2004, 11:26 PM

September 28, 2004, 11:33 PM
He's got a PEQ on the top rail behind the fold down front sight. Laser aiming unit for NVGs. At least that's what it looks like.

What branch of the service were/are you in?

Skunkabilly Tactical. Southern California's premier mall security agency.

Let us be the Chink in your armor. Starting at $12.95/hr.

In all seriousness, I haven't served. That MIGHT change before I hit the big 27 though.

September 29, 2004, 12:14 PM
Skunk's weapon breakdown:

LMT MRP carbine with 14.5 inch chromed lined barrel.
LMT Enhanced carrier assembly
LMT SOPMOD (Crane) Stock
PRI Gas Buster
SE Vortex G6a2
Insight PEQ2c with KAC PEQ mount
TangoDown Rail panel with PEQ switch pocket
TangoDown Verticle forward grip
TangoDown pistol grip
SureFire M962XM06
Troy BattleSight BUIS front and rear
EOTech 552 Rev F with LaRue SpeedLever mount

Skunk belongs to the blackest of black operatrion group, they are so black, they are actually purple. Mall security will never be the same again.

Next end of the month, it will be the G3 or G36 time, your call.

September 29, 2004, 12:35 PM

What is the 'gas buster' and will it help my metabolism? :uhoh: As for the G3 or G36, do you have a G41 or HK93?

Just so y'all know, Chen and I were on the teams.

You SEEL operators are very clever. Disguising your Op by putting on the Internet.

No one will see you there!:D

September 29, 2004, 03:51 PM

If I can make it on Oct. 30 (my b-day) to the end of the month, bring the G36. I still like your MRP.

September 29, 2004, 03:56 PM
If I can make it on Oct. 30 (my b-day) to the end of the month

Would you like a sleeping bag with that doghouse? :D

September 29, 2004, 04:05 PM
I might be able to help you with the G41 or HK 53. I will have to do some calling to set it up.

September 29, 2004, 05:29 PM
If I can make it on Oct. 30 (my b-day) to the end of the month

Would you like a sleeping bag with that doghouse?

Not just my b-day but my wife's pregnant & the due date is Oct 29. Maybe a doghouse at your house would be in order.

I'm all for a desert trip, dude!

September 29, 2004, 06:50 PM
Here's a brilliant idea... take a lightwieght, handy carbine and put so much crap on the front end that it's unweildy, heavy and bulky... hey can you still fit a bayonet onder all that crap? How about a bottle opener? Flare gun? Sawz-all?

Still with all that stuff Skunk can work on his arm strength.

September 29, 2004, 07:17 PM

Simon asked, "But rabbi, we are out of room on our rails!" And he spoke to Simon: "Get behind me Satan! With duct tape, all things are possible."

How about...

"Will hunt terrorists for ammo!"

Awesome rig, Skunk, How's it shoot?

September 30, 2004, 12:52 PM
I like it but it's too nose heavy. The upside to that is it works really well in rice paddy prone since it shifts your CG forward and the .223 won't knock ya over. (shooting 12ga slugs in rice paddy is 'nother story)

But who cares? I make it look good

September 30, 2004, 03:21 PM
Dr. Rob,

I can understadn your thoughts on the equipment on the rifle. but all of the add on accessories are capability enhacing parts. from the "IR Laser to SureFire light to EOTech that enable to operator to fire accurately out pass 300yards and still able to use the 65MOA circle to quickly engage close in targets. the vert grip to BUIS all have a purpose.

ever heard of the 300lbs of light weight gear.

by the time i get my load out on me, i am humping some where close to 60 extra pounds of guns, ammo, and gear. :)

September 30, 2004, 05:02 PM
Chen, how much was all the gear I was packing on? 30 lbs?

September 30, 2004, 08:26 PM
Those Ceradyne IMPACT plates are about 12 pounds for both.

ammo gear, magazine and all, probably close to 40 pounds.

September 30, 2004, 08:50 PM
Hey I'm stronger than I thought :uhoh:

September 30, 2004, 09:07 PM
