I have several small pics which are cropped out of larger ones .. in other words ... a small section (usually) from one gun. Identification is the drill .. ''name that gun'' .... caliber not being of prime importance - just manufacturer and type, where applicable.
Most in fact are probably quite easy for some folks but - for others it might be a fun challenge. Lighten up the day deal!:) I'll add some others later.
First in fact is less a crop than a component ... a barrel .... just try and identify what it is from. Don't bother to look at pic properties cos filename will tell you squat!:p
Prizes for right answers? Yep - as usual, last week's or even last month's ... reject cream filled donuts!:D

Is it just me, or does the barrel look like it's only 1" long?
OK, I'll guess it's from a Sig.

No - and - no!! Not BHP .. and total length is 2 5/8" nominal.
Here is another to ponder over for now as well .... gun ''snippet'' ..
# 2 , reminds me of the screw on the trigger guard of some mil-surp I once saw- don't ask me the make - all I saw was the TG in a parts bin. :p
( I was looking for GI recoil plug guides....gimmee a break)

I'll award stale Orio's to Steve and PMDW re #9 :p .. Steve guessed P11 - in fact it IS P3AT. The whole family tho is so alike in this sorta close detail ... that's fair enough.
Well .. we are doin well ....... let's throw in #10 ....... now this is way too easy!! - one of two answers would do here ....
almost looks like where cylinder crane go into a frame on what no clue

September 30, 2004, 09:55 PM
I'll add one clue tc .. it is a pic taken from right side of a gun .. not left where crane ass'y would show up. In fact I'll get close to a giveaway ... think S/A!! There - now I've blown it!:p

Hmmm .. well ..... yes. Oh Ok .. I'll yield ... it's the Blackhawk .. on right just in front of cyl' .. upper end of ejector rod housing as it goes into frame.
The screw is actually the opposite end of the push release for cyl' pin..
Oh well ... a few more to go ... let's have #13 .... guess this'll be a doddle too ...
Bakail - oops wait this is handguns - right? [ save that answer for the long gun teaser pics - will ya? :p ]
Looks like perhaps the chamber end of a Revolver ... Taurus ?

chamber end of a Revolveraha ... long gun teasers? Know what - may have to go that route later - plenty of food for thought and deception!:p chamber end of a Revolver Yep indeed but - Taurus? No Sir.
Another clue later if needed .....

#15 looks like the lower, forward part of the frame on a medium Dan Wesson (715?).

#15 isn't by any chance a Dan Wesson? Or perhaps a Bulldog by Charter Arms?
P95Carry
October 1, 2004, 12:01 PM
Still a no ... tho I can see why the Dan Wesson thinking is there ... sorta heavy and solid! Not Charter either.
I'll throw in a clue now .... think - snubby!!

Swiffer used on this LCD Monitor....cleaned my glasses, didn't help a whole lot...:p
Darn it Chris - you are just wrong my friend . :D That looks like a J / K frame moreso than a Det Spl that I am looking at...
Oh phooey WAG guess....Ruger Snubby ( Security Six , or whichever - I get those mixed up) .
I'm out of Chocolate Chip cookies ....

October 1, 2004, 04:22 PM
Well ..... OK ........ guess I can spare some more moldy cookie crumbs!:D
#15 - Ruger SP-101 .. my current daily carry! In a sense a ''J'' frame in size of course but, Smith it ain't! :p
#16 comin up ... the penultimate in current collection .... not probably too difficult really. ........

super redhawk by the barrel either 454 or 480
P95Carry
October 1, 2004, 07:24 PM
Steve ... you dipped out on the cookie crumbs again!! Sorry, not a Taurus!:( :p
tc once again has nailed it ... actually not .454 or 480 .. just my 44 mag version .. which is stainless natural finish, as against the ''target gray'' or whatever Ruger calls the gray finish on the .454. Close enough tc .... you get the crumbs!:D
Just one more left for now ... #17 ... and probably wayyyy too easy I think. Have to do a rifle category set sometime....
Hey - I got the part about having big charge holes right....earlier.
P95Carry
October 1, 2004, 09:18 PM
Haha ... Steve .... I won't give it away - quite yet, but - nope, not Taurus - but I'll throw a morcel at you for now. One aspect of what you wrote is almost right .. I'll leave it that and see if you cotton on, then you'll see what I mean.
Big charge holes .. well, OK!!:D

October 2, 2004, 08:54 AM
Crumbs!!?:D
OK well ... enough of this mystery. #17 is ... in fact ..... Webley MkVI ..... in .455 ..... see, close to 454! - well numerically! :p
I'll do some rifle stuff sometime ... for ****'s and giggles!:)
