Oh man, I want one. :D It's not a true MP5 copy (see the handguards) but combine this with a few Butler Creek 25 round mags and looks to be a fun little plinking gun.

More than a conversion. Just uses some 10/22 (and AR-15) parts.
Looks pretty fun, though.

Nice photoshop ... I'd love to see a MP5PDW style stock as well on the production models of the R22. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

The assault weapon (rifle) rules are for centerfire rifles.

The short one is nice, too bad it won't happen in CA.
12276.1.a
4) A semiautomatic pistol that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and any one of the following:
(A) A threaded barrel, capable of accepting a flash suppressor, forward handgrip, or silencer.
(B) A second handgrip.
(C) A shroud that is attached to, or partially or completely encircles, the barrel that allows the bearer to fire the weapon without burning his or her hand, except a slide that encloses the barrel.
(D) The capacity to accept a detachable magazine at some location outside of the pistol grip.
The photoshoped one has B, C, and D.
