Replacement Barrel Browning A-5

A friend of mine needs a new barrel for his Browning A-5. Where can one be purchased?

I've checked Midway, Natchez, Brownells and a few other sites and none are to be had because it seems that the A-5 is out of production.

I'm no shotgunner so any help y'all can provide would be greatly appreciated ( :D not that that appreciation will even get you a cup of coffee but then it is the thought that counts... right? RIGHT?)

Plenty of barrels out there, check Cabela's, Bass Pro, Gander Mtn, Hastings Barrels, local gun shop, Numrich Arms @ gunpartscorp.com . I bought a used Jap Browning barrel to choke instead of using my Belgium barrel.

Check the advertisements in Shotgun Sports and Gun List. Gun List is usually sold where Shotgun News is sold. There are lots of barrels out there, even for A-5.

Try eBay as there are generally several there for sale. One thing to keep in mind that all Browning barrels are susposed to interchange but they don't. The Japanese should fit on a Belgium made gun on a typical Light 12. There can be minor tolerance differences and they won't work. I had a Beligum Light 12 that would accept the barrel from my Japan Light 12 but the Belgium barrel would not even start in the Japan Light 12 receiver. I also saw some 20 ga. barrels made in Belgium that the rib had been misaligned at the factory and they would not fit in a 20 ga. receiver. I guess what I am saying is that if possible try the barrel for fit and function before you buy. :)
