Hello

Is there any type/brand of non-toxic shot that can be used safely in a really old M1897 Winchester? The gun is a 1906 take-down with a full choke. I don't plan on blasting a zillion rounds through it. Just a few so I can brag that I missed a few ducks with a 100 year old shotgun.

Next question kinda along the same lines.
The commies over at IAC/Norinco have a version of their M97 that is a 26" barrelled hunting shotgun. Might be just the ticket for the times that I get a nostalgic old-timey, go hunting urge but I don't want to drag a 100 year old heirloom through the muck and wet. It even comes with a fixed modifed choke which is more versatile than a FC. Does anyone own this version of the IAC M97 clone and what do you think?

Thanks
ZM

Zeke, if your sure the 97' does not have 2 9/16 chambers, which alot of the older older shotguns did, I believe Bismuth shot would be just the ticket for waterfowl hunting. I am not sure what the newer tungsten shells say about older guns, but bismuth should be suitable to shoot in the shotty.

No comment on the chinese clone.

Ditto what kudu posted.

My gun has standard 2 3/4" chambers. Blast wimpy trap loads through it all the time.

One of my friends has dared me to go duck hunting with him. Never been duck hunting. I think my friend is tired of me kicking his behind with rifles and pistols. I think he wants to humiliate me with shotguns. Should be too much of a problem for him. He's pretty good. I thought I would take both of my shotguns just for the heck of it.

Thanks
