I read Wilsons gun shop can convert a 2 3/4" 870 receiver to shoot a 3" shell. Does anyone know how this is done?
Thanks in advance for your time. dk

As I recall the only thing necessary, is to replace the short 2 3/4" ejector with a 3" ejector.
Since these are riveted into the receiver sidewall, it takes special tools.

I had Wilson Combat do the Remington Steal program on my old 870. That was part of it, convert it to accept 3 in shells. Excellent work. I basically have a Scatter Gun Technologies pump gun at a fraction of the cost.

Some guns will need the ejection port opened a little, but most don't. The ejector is all most need. The barrel obviously needs to be a 3" barrel or the chamber reamed as well.
