Does anybody know when a Remington 870 Express with the serial number A135***M was made?

Easiest and most accurate way is to call Remington Customer service with your serial #
1-800-243-9700, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm EST.
There are date codes on the barrel, but if the barrel isn't original to the gun it doesn't work.

Glad to help.
I called Remington last year and got the years figured out on my 870s. The lady was real quick and friendly. My oldest 870 is a 1950 wingmaster that came from the Ohio State police. It has alot of outside wear but I don't think it's been shot much. I went through it when I got it from a pawn shop for $110, and it looks pretty new and clean inside.

Flatfender, 1950 was the first year of production. Early "Riot" 870s are excellent value for the cash.
Most police turnins are carried a lot and look it. Most are nearly new inside.
$110 for a 870 is a great price. Enjoy...

I was suprised to find out it was a 1950 when I talked to Remington.
It has the 18" cylinder bore barrel and the "corn cob" forearm. It's a pretty cool shotgun. I'll dig it out of the safe and see if I can post a picture or three.
Of course my other 870s will want their picture taken too. We'll see. :D
