Good news. Too bad the cops got shot, but at least the courts were smart enough to not hold Ruger liable.

Songer and Gray spent time in federal prison for their roles in the gun sale.

So, a felon in posession of a firearm, and a straw purchaser get less than 3.5 years (I didn't see the sentence, but as this happened 3.5 years ago) in prison?

Hard to imagine this case made it even this far.

I wonder if the former officers considered suing the manufacturer of the automobile that these people used in travelling to the pawn shop. Or maybe they'll go after the company that produced the ammunition next.

I seriously hope these two fellows are okay, because they should NOT have been shot in the first place. But Ruger certainly didn't put the gun in the bad guy's hands, nor did it pull the trigger.

Good decision by the judge.
