David Petraeus, whether he acknowledges it or not, has become a candidate for George Patton's "Colorful General" position. He's certainly enjoying his press, and seems to be having some successes.

We'd love to have a "Real Fighting General" out there, rather than a politician, but I'm sure Petreus has his tactful side.

Anybody have any insights into his personal weapons of choice?

edit: Sometimes it helps to spell the name correctly.

An impression only - - -

I think it was him I saw on a short clip of a press briefing. He was wearing an M7 type (leather) shoulder holster, which indicates to me that he's a guy with some specific preferences about his personal gear. And - -Again, only an impression, the glimpse of the bottom of the pistol seemed to be not-an-M9. More like a SiG, or, possibly, even a 1911.

I'm still looking for a better image on the tube. I'll be interested in reading answers from other members.

These are the only things I could find... Nothing to indicate a closet Patton.
